- enter the final dungeon and exit. hit up the Orphanage. play this
stupid hide and seek game and then play lottery with the kid to get a
crucifix. I was just about to ask where I can get some spare Crucifixes. Thanks. - once you warp out, I think you can talk to Roger for Yuri's ultimate weapon. hope you've got ring skills. Oh? Sweet. I'll have to make sure to get that. - buy a TON of hp/mp/sp items. you will need them. you can also upgrade your weapons with your excess money. Yeah. I stocked up right before leaving Bacon's place. I haven't got the max on everything, but I have a good 50+ Thera Roots (300+ HP), 50+ Mana Roots (+200 MP), and I think about 30 SP items. Oh yeah, last dungeon is long as balls. Argh. haha. hang on. Crucifix Locations: 1.) gotten automatically when you get your wallet back in London 2.) After freeing the Orphanage, play hide-and-seek and win, then play lottery. 3.) Found in the Dollhouse, in the room where you fight Orb Chaos 4.) Win the Pit Fight with Alice at the hideout 5.) Defeat Scapegoat in Neameto blah, the dollhouse doens't open unless you do a few other sidequests. well, you should be all right.. just expect a really, really annoying final fight. --- xyzzy |

Are you sure it's Pocket Watch? I can buy that, but it says it stops
all Judgment Ring abnormalities. The one where it becomes invisible is

Oh, whoa, how hard is that Alice fight in the Pit? That seems like it's doable. yeah, the ring in the lottery is invisible. mind's eye makes the ring invisible but doubles damage. pocket watch will just cancel out the invisibility of that particular lottery. Will Power is cool for bosses that do SP lowering -- ie, the last boss you fought. it's good for the last boss, but other things are probably better. oh, have you fought Atman yet? best looking boss ever. --- xyzzy |

Attacks: Time of Judgment (about 300 HP / 100 MP lost to all) Verdant Abyss (200-250 damage plus petrification) Nine Springs (HP to 1) Black Abyss (100-200 damage to all plus 1/2 SP) Physical Attack (only did about 350 to me) Scarlet Abyss (200-350 damage to all plus paralyis) Yellow Abyss (200-250 damage to all plus confusion) Blue Abyss (200-250 damage plus poison [see a pattern?]) White Abyss (50-100 damage plus silence) --- xyzzy |

only one does. that FAQ is wrong. I beat it the first time without it, but it'll be a lot easier if you have them. faster, anyway. between all the healing/mp healing/sp healing/status ailment healing you'll be doing, you'll struggle to do damage. it's very doable, but it's not a lot of fun. dunno how tough Alice's pitfight is.. those things are pretty tough normally. if you do it, be sure to have a crucifix equipped. --- xyzzy |

Oh, and seeing as we're nearing the end of the game here, might I
direct your attention to a little game called Grandia II that I think
you might enjoy, and would recommend if you're all Shadow Heartsed out
after two games. It's got one of the best battle systems in an RPG, and

Very little to do with the actual content of the topic, but I just noticed that SH:FtNW has five characters starting in Godlike, in the RPGDL. And that Wugui's a Godlike, apparently. ...Having ID does tend to help over there, doesn't it? Okay. Finally got some free time today... Last night, I ended up quitting and going to bed before I got to ol' Simon. Knowing I wasn't going to get through it then, I went back to check up on some stuff to see if I couldn't help make the final battle easier. I rebought some items (including stuff like the Gold Hourglass) and then did the Pit Fight with Yuri to get a Seventh Key. I fought through three bosses in the castle. All three were pretty simple -- Yuri fuses in Amon, uses Demon Rays (hello there 600+ damage per hit), Zhuzhen uses Thunder Roar/items, and then Alice uses Arc when necessary. The second one was a bit annoying because it had a move where he made everyone's ring invisible. I've just about memorized where the hit areas are for everyone, so this wasn't too bad -- plus I used an item to take away the abnormality. There was a really annoying ass part right before the third boss with the warping. That took me forever to figure out where I needed to go for some reason. I eventually got through it, though, and then beat the third boss here for a Crucifix. So now I've got two Crucifixes on Yuri and Alice, and then I have a makeshift Crucifix thing going on with a Cosmic Bracelet and a Zodiac Bracelet on Zhuzhen (Cosmic Bracelet = Poison, Confusion, Silence; Zodiac Bracelet = Paralysis, Petrification), so I figure that covers him there. I also, in preparation for his final battle, put a Will Power on Zhuzhen and I think Alice. Nothing is more annoying to me than SP Lowering attacks. So yeah, that about covers what I got through. I know that final boss is supposed to be tough, but I've got a plan here. One of these bosses ended up giving me a Seventh Key, which gives me two of them. I also have a Monkey Paw (triples attack power, but makes Ring speed irregular). I have a bunch of items that double attack power, but double the ring speed. So I'm thinking that I can use the Monkey Paw or the item that doubles the attack power, then use the Gold Hourglass (cuts ring speed in half) then maybe use one that doubles the hit area. I've got two Seventh Keys, so that would be potentially 42 hits in two turns with increased attack power for both. That should help.
