it's just another puzzle dungeon. not that difficult but might take you
a while. there's also a fair amount of scenes afterwards, and be sure
to hit Zurich as well. --- i do not violation any rules "I hate you for introducing "Man Festival" to my vocabulary." - Heroic Mario |

Oh, and I hit up Zurich like you mentioned tranny. I got the scene at
Alice's grave, and then Yuri gave Karin Anne's Cross. Nice inscription
on the grave, too. Also, I got a scene with Jeanne again, but she went behind a door that I couldn't get to. I'm guessing that doesn't have any effect on the ending part. --- GODSLAYER AWW YEAH |

-- I made it through the Queen's Garden without too much trouble. I
loved the puzzles in here -- placing the chess piece, rearranging the
room, etc. Probably my favorite dungeon in a long time. The boss at the
end -- the weird baby on a giant ball of organs...or whatever -- was
really scrubby, though. It only attacked once the entire battle. -- The scene afterward back at Roger's where they try to bring Alice back to life was a pretty touching moment there. Yuri had some kind of crazy eye hax before right before then, too, to make the slim crap disappear. But yeah, really enjoyed that scene; pretty sad. -- The other scene with Alice, inside the train, was really good, too. Even without having played SH1, it's not hard to see how much they liked each other. -- Karin ended up spilling it to Yuri about how much she loved him; he talked about how his memories will keep going on even if the Mistletoe does end up taking his soul, and he's not going to worry about since there isn't anything he can do. Time for the showdown with Kato. -- Yuri confronting Kato at the Asuka Stone Platform was badass. He wants to take the world back in time 100 years before the people who screwed up the world were born, but Yuri isn't having any of that nonsense. So now it's off to meet him at the top of the tower. aww yeah --- GODSLAYER AWW YEAH |

I agree with Kleenex. SH2 needs no sidequests. get ready for a serious step up in difficulty, from easy to medium! though it sounds like you're seriously overlevelled so you won't have any problem. --- xyzzy |

Question -- do I need to actually warp inside the tower to activate the sidequests or just watch the scene, then exit? I'm not doing any sidequests right now. I want to see the ending really bad, but I'm going to make a separate save file so that I can do them afterward. --- GODSLAYER AWW YEAH |

-- The last dungeon wasn't too hard. I ended up getting confused on at
one point and went into a yellow portal instead of a green portal, so
it took a little longer than I was hoping, but it wasn't troublesome at
all. Nice final dungeon; just long enough to not be annoying, and it
wasn't bothersome to solve. -- The final battle against Kato was, by far, the hardest battle in the entire game. I ended up getting killed (which was death number two for the game) the first time because I attacked Kusanagi (the sword) first, and then the Gem just healed it afterward. So the next time through, I took out the Gem, the Shield, and then the Sword before finally going after Susano-O. This guy hit really hard, so Karin was constantly on healing, as were others when it got down to everyone in yellow. Very nice, challenging final boss, I thought. So after Kato is defeated, he tells Yuri that once you make it onto the field, you can no longer return to the present. That's kind of a shocker there, because I wasn't expecting that one. He tells Yuri that he has to pray for the world he wants to return to, his ideal place to live, and then thanks him before disappearing. Interestingly, the way he fades away is really similar to how the rest of them fade away. It didn't seem like he just died. In the following scene (still continuing from before), the group is huddled together praying for their ideal. Soon, one by one they start floating up into the air and disappearing much like Kato did. When it's just Karin and Yuri left, he says he knew that he was just living on borrowed time, and that he wasn't scared about what was going to happen, because he wasn't going to lose his memories. That's when Karin starts floating up into the air, but Yuri grabs her right before she disappears and tells her thank you. After she's gone, Yuri says that he couldn't keep that promise about seeing her again. And then it comes out of nowhere -- a huge ****ing spike comes jetting out the ground and right through Yuri. I was like "Holy **** what in the ****." But then it switches over to inside Yuri's soul, where that tree was from before. Alice's voice is in the background telling him she know why he did it, and that she loves him. She comes down out of the, uh, clouds of his soul or whatever those are, and he comes out of the tree. But, once the credits roll, you get to see images of the "ideal" worlds that they all prayed for, except for Yuri's and Karin's. Once the credits finish, the scene switches over to Yuri's dad back in the year 1887 (I think that was it). He comes out of some place and finds Karin passed out beside a tree. He rushes over to her, then picks up the photograph that Saki gave her of him, three-year-old Yuri, and his mother. Now, I think I am to believe that Karin ends up being Yuri's mother, which is kind of strange, but it almost sorta makes sense in a way... there are a few instances I remember from the game that almost seemed like subtle hints toward it. After that, you get to see what happened to Yuri, who ends up back in his SH1 outfit in the year 1913 -- so I'm guessing right around the time SH1 began. But Yuri, like, got impaled, and then the whole scene with Alice... I have no idea. But my guess is that he ended up praying for a world he could return to where he would have a chance to not have Alice killed...maybe? No? I dunno. I don't know what the whole consensus on that is. But getting out of that, Yuri walking up to the train station was just badass. No matter what he does, it's badass. Sastified? Oh yeah. Now I gotta place SH1. Have to. --- GODSLAYER AWW YEAH |

And the plan here is to end up making another topic, because I know the
discussion isn't goign to end in, oh, 15 posts. So it'll keep going in
there, and then I'll just use that for my SH1 playthrough as well. Some stats from memory -- I finished the game in 25 hours, the main party was level 55, and I had something like 700,000 gil. That's all I can really remember that changed any from the last time I updated. --- GODSLAYER AWW YEAH |
