yazzy - Most people know you as "the UUL man," which carries with it both a positive association and a stigma of sorts. Whatever issues the UUL may have had over the years - and I still maintain it's the best user contest run on this board - the cliquery that goes on is not your fault. You're a capable host, and though I'm finding I disagree with your stance on rallying, it doesn't change the fact that the League has always been run exceptionally well. - You're enthusiastic, polite, and capable. You're a relatively happy man living a decent life with a job you enjoy and a new family. You're a Christian, and you maintain your beliefs rationally and politely, even - and especially - in debates. I wish people associated you with the face of Board 8 Christianity as opposed to, say, FD. - Overall you're a good man who does mostly good things. linkhatesganon - You care waaaaay too much about what other people think of you, and this manifests itself in a lot of different ways, the most prominent among them being obsessed with your performance in user contests. I think you've gotten a little better with this, but there was a time when you'd meticulously pick out the votes against you. You are also a part of that crowd of people whose major social interaction is voting for each other in user contests. - That said, you're not a bad guy, and your taste in movies is pretty decent, but you just happen to be more than a little obsessed with how others perceive you. It's an easy trap to fall into, but you kinda take it to the extreme, y'know? wait FD's a christian Yeah. There was a time (can't remember how long ago, I think it was before I left for a while) when there were a bunch of religious topics and FD was being, uh, less than polite about his beliefs. I know there are often a bunch of religious topics but this was a couple weeks where the focus was really on that. A lot of the topics had to do with being gay and acceptance and stuff like that. It was pretty frustrating to me because everyone on the board was basically bashing Christians because of the way that FD was acting, so I was defending Christians and disappointed in FD. Very odd couple weeks that was. <_< And hey, I'm going to be changing the verbiage on the rallying in the UUL. The idea is to allow it on the board and discourage rallying on AIM or in Mafia chats. <_< My idea of rallying isn't exactly the way that rallying plays out, which makes it less than ideal. >_> --- Retaliation. Smurf - In the past I've described you as a circus ringleader, someone who likes to stand in the center of the mayhem and direct and control it while subtly drawing attention to himself. I feel that's still an apt metaphor. Everything you do here seems to reflect this mentality: your Guitar Hero ranking topics, your old top 10 lists (1. INVISO LOL!), even User of the Year to a large extent. - And yet that also seems to sell you short. You really do love this place, and everything you do has that double edge there: you do it for the attention, for the controversy, yet you also do it because, quite simply, you like it. - I don't know if you are aware of this, or if you could even admit it to yourself if you were. In real life you adamantly deny any knowledge of this place's existence and actively strive to separate the 'real world' from your internet activities, as if you're embarrassed of them. I used to think this was because you used to act so immaturely that you were ashamed that people in real life would look down on you. Now I think it's because you're in denial of how much you love - and need - this place. Liquid Wind - You seem to have a very narrow way of looking at the world (people who use the term "fanboy" in a serious manner usually do >_>). By this I mean that you tend to remain steadfast in your ways of thinking and opinions, and deviation from them is usually met with outright derision or condescension. See: your opinions on Brawl, music, and anything you're generally passionate about. You're not as bad as this as, say, Ulti, yet you do it enough that I consider it your primary characteristic. - That said, you are a passionate person, which is funny, because I always took you as the type who tries to hide his passion, who tries to pass it off as nonchalance. Applekidjosh - The face you present on B8 and your real-life face are often starkly different. In real life you share many similarities with me: often painfully shy, a depression sufferer, subtly insecure about most things about yourself. On the board, however, you're perpetually upbeat, jokey, fun to be around. I don't know where the difference stems from, why it's there or if it's even there at all (for all I know you could be like that in real life too), but it's always perplexed me, since I feel like I see a side of you few others do. - You remind me of, ironically, Icehawk, in that I'm never sure if your 'obsession' with user popularity is an act or not - I mean, I'm sure some of it's an act, but you seemed legitimately upset about being excluded from User of the Year that one time, for example, and at least in the beginning your constant reminders of how you're BACK ON THE BOARD WOO were rather frequent. Still, you joke about it even more than 'hawky does, so who knows with you. >_> - All that said, you're still one of my best friends on the Board, someone I can relate to and chat with about damn near anything, and that's impressive in and of itself. Mega Mana - If you could be any class, you'd be a dual paladin/berserker: paladin because you're so sweet and bubbly most of the time, berserker because when you're not bubbly, you're outrageously, stupidly angry over trivial things. I wish I could say we'd put our Mercs differences behind us, but then I see you mentioning DR. MARIO UPGRADE on the Mercs 2 board and it makes me think you haven't changed at all. Hence, the berserker: they don't really learn from their mistakes, they just keep getting angrier and angrier, madder and madder at the world. I really do think that's you. - You fit in just fine with the "night crew": people whose sole purpose on the board is to put LOL XD RANDOM crap and engage over the time-honored debate of waffles or pancakes. - That said, you probably fit in even better with the TV-watching crew, though I wouldn't know. Your personality, when calm, does lend itself well to analytical humor, so you've got that going for you.
