GameFAQs Contests
transience's video game topic -- soon to be an e3 megathread.
Yea I'm really disappointed with the lack of surprises. That was a stinker of a press conference. --- Whoomp there it is |
price drops - Xbox 360 arcade - $149 xbox 360 elite - $249 --- xyzzy |
Where the hell was summer of XBLA anyways? --- Whoomp there it is |
It
was just really boring. Even the good games like Gears 3 and Halo Reach
I already knew about. I know all the real "games" don't come out until
the Konami/Capcom/Ubisoft/etc conferences, but Jesus Christ... --- The day Dr. Footballl blessed us with his presence was the greatest day of our lives But for him, it was Tuesday |
but skittles and that dude dancing.. --- Ryoko oh god if it would keep me from having to play dante's inferno I would jump in bed with bea arthur's corpse any day - SantaRPG |
I kinda wish my 360 red-ringed now instead of last October. I want a slim dammit. I don't know why, I already even have the wifi adapter. I just DO, okay? --- I'm on the DH fan club myself. --UltimaterializerX I have never liked DH. --Tom Bombadil |
summer of xbla is usually announced a few minutes after the press conference. hopefully it appears soon. --- xyzzy |
From: Shadow_Ryoko | #155 http://i46.tinypic.com/2lk5l04.gif SKITTLES doing the Matrix was awesome --- The day Dr. Footballl blessed us with his presence was the greatest day of our lives But for him, it was Tuesday |
Summer of XBLA “Castlevania Harmony of Despair” (Konami Digital Entertainment) "Hydro Thunder Hurricane” (Microsoft) “Lara Croft and the Guardian of the Light” (Square Enix) “Limbo” (Microsoft) and “Monday Night Combat” (Microsoft). only four games this year, huh. well, three titles look really good anyway. Hydro Thunder, meh. --- xyzzy |
From: transience | #159 Wait, did they show off those games? --- "You brought your *****, to the waffle hut?" |
oh wait, I copy and paste failed and missed one “Monday Night Combat” (Microsoft) well, 3/5 anyway! --- xyzzy |
show
them off? no. press releases come flying out after the conferences.
they deem XBLA to be too small to bother spending time on them at a
conference. --- xyzzy |
Harmony of Despair and Limbo should be good stuff. Maybe the Tomb Raider one, we'll have to see about that. --- http://i48.tinypic.com/2cgh5cj.jpg |
So I hear Kinect is going to be $150. --- GameFAQs isn't going to be merged in with GameSpot or any other site. We're not going to strip out the soul of the site. -CJayC |
here's the PR on those summer of XBLA games # "Castlevania: Harmony of Despair" (Konami Digital Entertainment). Dracula takes a bite out of Xbox LIVE Arcade with "Castlevania: Harmony of Despair." "Hydro Thunder Hurricane" is the all-new, full-featured sequel to the legendary arcade racer. Featuring rocket-powered speedboats blasting across amazing dynamic water, gorgeous visuals and interactive environments packed with shortcuts and surprises, this is the adrenaline-drenched sequel fans have been waiting for. Dive into intense multiplayer races with up to eight players on Xbox LIVE, up to four players locally, or even mix local and online games.* # "Lara Croft and the Guardian of the Light" (Crystal Dynamics, Square Enix Europe). "Tomb Raider" heroine Lara Croft makes her headlining debut in this co-op, multiplayer action and adventure game. Choose your own solutions and explore various paths through the dense jungles of Central America as you solve puzzles to win the game. # "Limbo" (Playdead, Microsoft Game Studios). Uncertain of his sister's fate, a boy enters "Limbo." This summer, experience his journey -- through a world media are calling hauntingly beautiful and philosophically provocative -- in this Independent Games Festival award-winning title. # "Monday Night Combat" (Microsoft). "Monday Night Combat" takes you into the most popular lethal sport of the future. This third person shooter blends intense combat, finishing moves and game show-like challenges to give you an action experience unlike any other. Rather than fighting for honor or duty, "Monday Night Combat" lets you fight for the real American dream -- cash, fame and endorsements. --- xyzzy |
No mention of Hulu in any of these press releases, eh? --- Whoomp there it is |
Hulu would have been a conference announcement. looks like that wasn't real. --- xyzzy |
holy
balls, playing around in Xenoblade, I just explored a bit far from my
destination and found a level 77 shark, Shulk's future-seeing ability
comes into play with gameplay because like the screen stopped and went
blue and it was showing me what was going to happen (the shark hit me
for 130,000 damage), and then it went back to normal and I just
continued on to try and not get it totally interested in how that's going to come in handy --- your so damn ugly, Rice Krispies won't even talk to your sorry ass. |
huh, I was going to buy a 360 today. JUST IN TIME. Gonna wait a bit now for this new 360. --- Nominate Epona for the next Character Battle and have a carrot! Nominate Dan McNeely for the next Character Battle and have immortality! |
ouch, Kinect pricing from Gamestop http://www.gamestop.com/browse/search.aspx?N=0&Ntk=TitleKeyword&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Ntt=kinect --- xyzzy |
Kinect's not even going to have a Kinect-game with it? Just saying, if you're going to knock off Nintendo, go all the way with it. That's going to be a hell of an investment. --- Nominate EPONA for Character Battle 9: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.php?board=8&topic=54225515 |
they'll package something with it, I'm sure. ...they better. this is all just speculation by Gamestop, but they usually are on the right track with this stuff. --- xyzzy |
From: transients | #171 Do "Arcade" and "Elite" even apply anymore? Kinect launches in November, and the old 360s should all be phased out by then. uhh... Microsoft is phasing out the old 360s, right? --- Yoblazer: http://i29.tinypic.com/dqhyf5.jpg Watch and you'll see... some day I'll be... part of your world! |
If they don't pack anything with it it'll cose more than a Wii if you want at least one game.. way to go Microsoft. |
why would they? that $149 price point is pretty damn attractive for casuals. --- xyzzy |
$300
for the bundle, that makes sense. $150 for the Kinect itself, well
that's probably priced itself out of being a Christmas present. phew --- Donny: Are they gonna hurt us, Walter? Walter: No, Donny. These men are cowards. |
worse
yet, the new Slim has its own Kinect port, meaning that in order to use
it with an old 360 you'll need to plug it into the wall. --- xyzzy |
no biggie --- Donny: Are they gonna hurt us, Walter? Walter: No, Donny. These men are cowards. |
From: Shoenin_Kakashi Oh god the dancing --- "Congratulations Thomas and Sylvia! But their happiness does not continue long..." |
Child of Eden, the spirital successor to Rez, is a Kinect game http://www.destructoid.com/e3-10-trailer-for-spiritual-sequel-to-rez-looks-amazing-176384.phtml I have literally no idea what this is --- xyzzy |
Guess
I shouldn't have bought a 360 like two months ago. Oh well, I don't
think I have any real need for a slimmer system or a bigger HD. --- "Congratulations Thomas and Sylvia! But their happiness does not continue long..." |
Deleted probably because it wasn't supposed to come out yet luckily enough one fan saved it in case it would get deleted http://www.nintendoeverything.com/41974/ --- your so damn ugly, Rice Krispies won't even talk to your sorry ass. |
yeeeeees Daniel Craig James Bond --- "You brought your *****, to the waffle hut?" |
The Ubisoft confrence better not have James Cameron drone on for 25 minutes like last time. --- From: Biolizard28 | Posted: 7/10/2009 8:57:29 PM | #010 Sometimes, a man needs his lolicon. |
As awesome as that looks, it doesn't have Sean Bean voicing 006 and i am disappointed. --- Still a badass. http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/5861/raydyn2.png |
Microsoft is no longer producing current 360s. http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/14/microsoft-no-longer-making-current-360-console/ --- Whoomp there it is |
I've heard that they're planning to make a $200 elite but can't seem to find confirmation of it. --- xyzzy |
Microsoft sticking with one $300 SKU doesn't seem likely. They'll have something less expensive available. --- Yoblazer: http://i43.tinypic.com/25z1non.jpg Watch and you'll see... some day I'll be... part of your world! |

quick someone copy/paste a recap of the conference for me ! --- one generation plants the trees, another enjoys the shade |
From: ZFS | #192 which one? --- The day Dr. Footballl blessed us with his presence was the greatest day of our lives But for him, it was Tuesday |
of which? I did a Microsoft recap up above somewhere. there's nothing there you care about too much. EA had no new announcements really, or at least nothing of note, but was solid all around. if you like shooters, EA had a good conference. --- xyzzy |
1. Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit - racing gamez 2. Dead Space 2 - gunz 3. Medal of Honor Afghanistan - two teams working on it, one for single player, one for rmultiplayer 4. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam - dlc 5. MMA - FEDOR 6. Active2 - for all 3 systems 7. Madden - "simpler", "quicker" 8. Sims 3 - consoles 9. Crysis 2 - will break your computer 10. Bulletstorm - is awesome 11. Star Wars: The Old Republic - no gameplay --- http://i48.tinypic.com/2cgh5cj.jpg |
Kleenex you're not whining about shooters delete the post, put it on a different board OK --- Donny: Are they gonna hurt us, Walter? Walter: No, Donny. These men are cowards. |
hey neon's whining about whiners again --- xyzzy |
Really looking forward to tomorrow, first day of E3 was complete garbage until now and I doubt Ubisoft will save it. |
tomorrow's
the first real day of e3 anyway. today's just a bunch of dumb press
conferences. bring on people who actually get to play games --- xyzzy |
microsoft's, of course. i don't care for ea or activision stuff, unless there was something noteworthy announced --- one generation plants the trees, another enjoys the shade |
