On my way to the Tower of Mysidia about 3 or 4 huge tidal waves crashed
into my ship. Then my party ended up somewhere else entirely! Turns out
the Leviathan engulfed us as it is suppose to do whenever someone has a
crystal rod in their possession. Apparently their are a lot of people
with crystal rods because the Leviathan ate about a whole town of
people. How they survive inside the belly of a beast is news to me. Met
a dragoon (right now he is the last of his race) and he joined my
party. Fought a Land Worm and exited the Leviathan safe and sound. Now

The Tower of Mysidia is hella long. It was about 8 or so floors and
combined with random encounters and treasures phew too long. It also
had some mini-bosses/bosses that were actually challenge for a change. Thunder Gigas and the Dragon had much physical resistance (reminded me of FF1 but this time i had a mage of sorts :D) I had to actually use spells for my powerhouses were doing no damage. Gigas was harder because the only spell i used only did about 400 dmg and he had about 3,000 hp. Not to mention he could do about 1.7K dmg (my characters except Richard have about 3K hp). I opened a treasure chest to fight the Dragon. Now this game is no stranger to chests monsters but the Dragon had boss music playing when i fought it (only the second time i've heard boss music and both the bosses were easier than T. Gigas) The Dragon was weak against fire which is about the only spell i use so it when down rather quickly. I was suprised to see it had Ice 16 when i am struggling to get a spell to lvl 10. Flare was also in Mysidia Tower :D I was on my way to get Ultima when i saw Minh (the guy was suppose to have unsealed Ultima some time ago). It was like he was waiting for my party to arrive. To open the sealed door Minh had to survive his life (another character dying lol FF2). Inside the room where Ultima was contained i found 5 orbs, in which each one was beneficial to certain characters (one rose str for one character, one int, one soul, one agility) It kind of reminded me of Earthbound when you got near the end of the game all of Ness's stats went up (kind of cheap but meh Earthbound was kind of hard anyway so it was nice in FF2 its unnecessary imo). The middle orb had the power to stop the Empire, Ultima. Hooray I GOT ULTIMA!!!!!!!!!!! Well now im guess im on my way back to Phin to see what the resistance has planned next. --- "Darn. Wow. Lvl 1 Ultima does about 400 dmg which is more than my lvl 10 fire -_- I need to work on leveling it up so it can be smexy :D I went back to Altea and it was destroyed! I guess the Empire is up to something again. Now the enemies on the world map have changed. Where i was fighting hornets and goblins is now panthers, big horns, things that shouldnt be! --- "Darn. I was on my way to Phin Castle when i saw a tornado directly outside of
it. I needed to save and heal first so i did. Talked to the people of
Phin and learn the Emperor of the Empire summoned the tornado and is
inside of it! It also turns out he went and destroyed most of the towns
i've previously visited and he attacked Phin killing mostly everyone!

Ok I entered the tornado in which the emperor created. Wasn't too long
before i approached the cause of my pain and turmoil. Before i could
even reach him he was like, "Nice try you think you could actually
fight me just like that? Here are some enemies for you." I killed him. WOOT!!!!! I arrived back and Phin and Hilda said, "Let's have a party" It put the FF8 dance sequence to shame i must say. Then the ultimate spoiler: The Dark Knight was my 4th party member all along and now he is the new emperor! He was controlled by the empire it seems. I went to talk to Paul who said Cid was caught up pretty badly in the
whirlwind that the Emperor created. I talk to him and he died! CID

Paramekia Castle was also very long -_- Well i found the Dark Knight and he approach me as if we were going to battle but the Emperor came back! I guess he is immortal o.O He tried to destroy my party and the Dark Knight but Richard sacrificed his life to save us (another one bites the dust). From Heroic Palmer I talk to him and he died! XD I think you need a breath mint or something... Okay, that was bad, but seriously, people are dropping like flies in this game. I've played the game all the way through earlier, but I don't remember anything of this. I only remember Josef dying in that cave. Probably because Ramuh tells you Joseph's (they changed the spelling) story in FFIX, and I played FFIX before I played FFII... --- CBV: 128 |

*VAGUE FINAL FANTASY IV SPOILERS* That's what I disliked about IV. At least here when people die they stay dead. *END VAGUE FINAL FANTASY IV SPOILERS* I'm actually in the middle of an FF playthrough quest like yours, HP. The only difference is that mine has taken almost 3 years and I'm only through IX (I play too many other games). Cid died due to the Whirlwind, Josef died by a boudler, Minh died
breaking the sealed door to Ulitma, Richard the Dragoon died protecting
us from the undead Emperor. The warship destroyed many townspeople and
the Whirlwind destoryed about 4 major towns and their people. 4 major people died in this game -_- Glad you are enjoying this and good luck in the rest of the contest JaKyL25 :D I'm probably going to start playing again a bit later. --- "Darn. I got through the Jade passage. I probably overtrained because nothing
was really that threaten there. Fought some more chest bosses and that
was about it. Old chest dragons became regular enemies but like i said

While i was in the castle the spoony bard guy was in a treasure chest
as a zombie! People from the Empire just don' t know how to stay dead
just like the people in FFX. Lol Square. They do such a good job at hiding ultimate weapons -_- I found the Masamune quite easily i must say :D I am so glad they made Tiamat cool in the first two games. They didn't do him enough justice in FF8. FF1 Tiamat > FF2 Tiamat though. I fought a Gotus but this Gotus looked wayyyyy different and it had a spear and angel wings but it played boss music. It was still pretty easy though. I hope the Emperor gives me a challenge. Satan has an interesting look in this game. It looks like an ant with wings -_- None of these four bosses have done anything impressive either. Emperor you better give me a challenge you bastard! "....And so the era of war has come to an end." I walked into a room with headless female statues o.o It was a very sexy room lol. Then i arrive in a black room with blue stars/lights. It actually looked pretty cool. Then i approached the Emperor who looked like a pimp in a purple suit and a gold chain (I'm not kidding either). The Emperor looked pretty badass but not as much as Chaos. Easily the easiest last boss of FF history (except maybe Sephiroth). I didn't even use the Blood Sword method. More impression: First game to have a coeurl type creature <3 First game to have the Genji Armor as the best armor in the game. Meteo came from this game <3 Final thoughts: Easily one of the best storylines of a FF game however FF1 > FF2. FF2 has a broken leveling system. You could easily get 9999/999 mp and lvl 16 weapon and magic skills at the beginning of the game. Overall it was also one of the easiest FF games ever created. I only had one game over and it was because i explored areas i had no business in. The music was also slightly better than FF1. I like gameplay and music over anything else in RPGs. FF1 had better gameplay, FF2 had better storyline and music but its gameplay was so broken there is no way i could like it better. I can finally see why it is the least liked FF. I liked it but i probably won't ever play it again unless i make it more challenging in some way. I'll probably start FF3 later today or tomorrow. --- "Darn. series on a much much much smaller scale, I'm just trying to beat the

Just started FF3. I've played it before but like i said i got stuck for some reason and quit -_- Well i fogot how this game started out so it was news to me. We started out in a cave fighting goblins. Got a couple of southwinds and didn't know what they did so i used one on some carbuncles. Fought a landturtle who was the boss (awesome boss music btw) and approached the crystal that allowed my party to get new jobs (Onion Knights are ok but time for an upgrade) I'm now going to the first town (overworld music is the best so far as well). --- "Darn. I went to the Sealed Cave and while i was there i met Princess Sara
(lol FF1). She had the ring i needed to seal Jinn. I arrived at Jinn
and of course he was a boss battle. The Princess said he was weak
against Ice but regular enemies lose about the same damage that Jinn
did so it made me wonder. Anyway my Black Mage (i have a party of
Fighter, Monk, Black Mage, and Red Mge) ran out of Ice magic during the
fight so i was physically attacking Jinn for minutes. I beat him of
course. Sara then sealed Jinn in the ring and then broke his curse by

Nooooo don't beat me zpoopy! j/k <3 Well i did start playing again. I had just finished breaking the Jinn's curse and i got the canoe from the King. I arrived back in Kazus to find Cid to thank him for his airship but he wanted me to get a mithril bow attached to it so he could go back to his wife. I ended up doing that and then we arrived in Canaan. I met his wife but she was dreadfully ill and needed an elixir to survive. Luckily some guy left one on the ground in town :D I give her the drought and she instantly became better. I talked to Cid and he revealed a hidden passage to many treasure in his home. I keep talking to him though just to see him jump into oblivion XD Right now im training to get Bolt for my Black Mage and my Red Mage then ill attempt the mountain train to the dragon. --- "Darn. I really liked FFIII. The best 8-bit Final Fantasy, and the second-best

Oh, and if you don't have access to FFIV still, I vote for you to just
do MQ in its place. Keep it in some context at least; it would be weird

The US SNES version called Final Fantasy III is actually Final Fantasy
VI. So the Final Fantasy III he is playing is not the one with Terra,

The Final Fantasy III he is currently playing is the true FFIII, until
now only released in Japan on their version of the NES. It's basically
a rudimentary version of FFV's job system. Now this FFIII is finally available in the US, on the DS. --- Character Battle V Contest Winner! Thank you, Eddie Guerrero. |

Well, I just read the whole topic start to finish. Enjoying it a lot,

Ok i was about to approach the tip of the mountain but then the dragon
grabbed me and my party members and dragged us to top. Found out the
dragon was Bahamut and i was in his nest! He/She/It had babies there as
well and when i talked to them they said Wark! I didn't know chocobos
were made from dragon sex o.O Anyways i met some guy named Desh up there. He had also been caught by Bahamut as well. When we tried to escape Bahamut tried to fight us! Desh said just to run but Bahamut attacks weren't even that great atm. I should have fought him. Well Desh ended up giving me mini magic and we jumped off of a mountain (that was was smart).
