I had to leave the Cave of Darkness. Had to get my Magic Knight armor
and equips from the fat chocobo. The splitting was getting rather
annoying. I found some Genji Armors in this cave! Unfortunately they
are not as sexy as they were in FF2 :( The Cave of Darkness, is the in fact the worst.dungeon.evar. I seriously hope i didn't miss anything because im never coming back here ever again. In fact it would make me think twice about playing this game over again. Im wishing i had an otterhead because now i have to walk out manually. Well i went back to Dorga and Unne but for some reason it seemed like
they were plotting something. I had to go through another dungeon of
sorts and it wasn't particularly easy either. I finally reached them
but they wanted to fight me. Zande should be fortunate that he wasn't
turned into the things Dorga and Unne were. I ended up killing them
just to make the Eureka Key. I hope their sacrifice was worth the end

Well i entered the Ancient's Labrinyth and right out the gate a boss
fight to get the jobs of the Earth Crystal. The crystal reveealed that
Zande has been using its power for evil and is trying to drown the

Eureka is ******* brutal. I haven't seen status effects since the
beginning of the game and now they wanna spring them on me when i have
no softs, maiden's kisses, antidotes, or eyedrops and its always on the
character that can cure them -_- Just grabbed something and it said something about a full moon, however, i hit a button and it went away. I hope it wasn't too important. Seems i might have to refight some of the most important bosses over again, refought Amon just moments ago. Hehe i fought him for a full moon. Unfortunately i don't use the class for that weapon so that was utterly pointless. About to explore the rest of the forbidden city. Fighting ninjas for weapons isn't bad but the Masamune was really easy to get in this game. At least they tried to hide it in the previous games. WTF Square? Scylla was easiest the most questionable creature ever created in FF. I'm going to have nightmares im sure. But hooray Ninja and Sage Class FTW!!!! If they were trying to hide these jobs they did a bad job..... A VERY BAD JOB!!!! I was a bit disappointed but oh well woot. I arrived in a room with 5 dragons which was pretty weird imho. I
approached a mirror and someone revealed that i have been tainted with
the dragon's curse. Dorga's voice talked to me and said the five lights
can break the curse so he gathered up Prince Allus, Prince Sara, the 4
old men, Cid and wtf DESH IS ALIVE!?!?!??!?!?! I had to fight Zande which i figured would be the last boss. He did Meteo and almost killed my whole party in one turn. However he only attacks every other turn so i had time to heal up and prepare for his next attack. He went down quite easily. However after the battle a cloud attacked and killed my whole team :( I was the sexiest cloud i've even seen though <3 The five lights arrived to see that my party was decimated but then the spirits of Dorga and Unne appeared and revived my party. My mission is not over i must destroyed the dark cloud to save the world! To the dark world! --- "Darn. Apparently in this place there are 4 crystals of light which are
guarded by bosses. Whenever i defeat a boss i encounter a dark warrior.
They are going to help me defeat the Dark Cloud. Echidna is an *******. I died plenty of times on boss but i never got annihilated. I ended up with my Sage going against the Echidna one-on-one. Im glad i equipped him with that ribbon moments before that fight began. On to the next crystal. Cerberus was a cake-walk. All it did was spam thunder which makes me wonder, why did they make it guard the wind crystal? I prefer my fire-attacking Cerberus anyday. 2 down, 2 to go. OMG Flying Eye from FFX!!!!!! So this is the game it came from and it was a major boss too. Smart and sexy rolled up into one. Ahriman also abused Meteo automatically making it an ******. Healing and reviving every round worked out ok. One more to go then its Dark Cloud time! I HATE YOU SO MUCH 2-Headed Dragon!!!!!!!! Well i died so i have to make my way back to him. Basically he has a ohko move and he uses it every turn. He keeps killing my sage with Life 2 and im too careless with Fenix Downs so i just let him kill me. Rematch ******! Since he wants to hit 30 times i can too! HASTE IT UP!!!!!! That made the match 10X easier but i don't like to use it. He was an ass so i became one too. "To the light that shines when there is nothing else..... Hope......." Surprisingly i only died once. Dark ***** was really something else. I've never known a last boss to just spam the same move over and over again. Unfortunately FlareWave kills my entire party if used 3 times in a row. I had to use elixirs during the battle just to survive (and i don't usually use elixirs in any FF game). So far FF3 > FF1 > FF2. Definitely had the best music and gameplay by far. Jobs gave it a nice depth that didn't occur in the previous games. In RPGs variety in gameplay is key and this game had it. I really loved the music in this game. Overworld music might be the best of any FF game period. I would play this game again however it did have some faults. OMG the end of the game was ruthlessly. Let's have enemies that are pretty much bosses in random encounters then lets make you fight bosses that spam spells that hit everyone. Hard enemies+ item searching + long dungeons =/= imo. Too many of the jobs were useless if not pointless. They focused on certain jobs more so than others and that isnt fair. I would have loved to use some of the more obscure classes but the game didn't cater to them as much as Sages, Ninja, Knights, and Magic Knights. Well i realized i don't have Mystic Quest or FFIV so im going to look into getting both of those sometime tomorrow. --- "Darn. I've never known a last boss to just spam the same move over and over again. FFIV's final boss spams their best move over and over too. Just thought I'd warn you since you'll be playing that next. Also try to get the Final Fantasy Chronicles version of FFIV if you can because the challenge was upped significantly making the boss battles much more fun. --- Don't feed the Slithy |

Well i don't know if i should start FFIV or Mystic Quest. I've started
replaying MQ and for the most part it seems more interesting however
i've played it before and i really want to play FF games that i haven't

So far FF3 > FF1 > FF2. I also feel that this is the correct ranking of the 8-bit Final Fantasies. I think each one is better than the last from 1-6, with 2 being the only exception. If you wanted to play them TRULY chronologically, then it should go IV-MQ-V-VI, based on their first release dates. Ok i started FFIV. Impressions: Definitely more of a storyline element than previous games especially since you are no longer the main character. Too bad I already know what is going to happen to Cecil </3. Cid is of course in the game and he also has to do something with airships (so glad after FF7 that is no longer his occupation). Tent make their way back meaning to me exploring the world map must get tedious enough that you will need to heal often enough. Rosa the white wizard seems to be a love interest of Cecil, guess i'll see how that plays out. Nice to see things previous to other games return to this one. Glad the Mysidians are back however this crystal ploy is getting old imo. Once again the Elemental Crystals return as a main plot it seems. At least as of now no one besides me and the Mysidians know of their powers. Well Cecil was the leader of the Red Wings (lol GullWings) however during his lastest mission he questioned the merit of his work and was kicked out. Kain tried to defend him but his actions resulted in dismissal as well. Now Cecil and company are to take a package to Mist Valley in order to redeem themselves. --- "Darn. <3 the Castle music. Also nice to see Dark Knights and "dark swords" make there way into the game as well. On the way to Mist, a voice urged Cecil and Kain back to Baron. They insisted that they must reach Mist to deliver the package and hooray boss battle. Well i know the idea for the FF6 boss took place. Whenever the Mist Dragon turned into mist i couldn't attack it due to the fact it would retaliate. Pretty easy boss though. Now they are on their way to Mist. Also love the battle music and overworld theme. Also the boss music sounds like something out of FF7..... --- "Darn. Man that is low. The King used Cecil and Kain as mules to destroy the
callers of Village Mist. Apparently callers can summon monsters to do
their bidding (much like FF3 conjurers i would imagine). The package
was full of bombs and they burned down the village and annihilated its
people. A little girl survived. Kain wanted to kill her because he
didn't want to be disloyal to the King and to the Dragoons however
Cecil convinced him to take her along with them. However the girl tried
to fight us. Now i don't know if you could have attacked her but i didn't. She summoned Titan against them and it used Quake. Luckily it didn't kill them however it caused an earthquake on the world map and separated Kain and Cecil from each other. Now Cecil has the girl and is escaping from Baron. --- "Darn. Cecil arrived in Kaipo and thought it was a good idea for the girl to
rest. He arrived in the inn and without even paying took her to a bed.
While they were resting Baron soldiers approached them and insisted all
callers must die. Cecil being a human being fought them off. Its funny
watching the officer say fight when he is the only one there XD.
Anyways after the fight the girl was ecstatic that Cecil was willing to
protect her life and she revealed her name and joined the party. Somehow Rosa is in Kaipo. Apparently she came looking for Cecil and caught a fever so now i have to go into the Antlion Cave for the cure. I find it weird for Rydia to learn spells as she levels. Definitely a first for me in RPGs. I got her to lvl 10 so she could at least have decent mp and hp. On to the cave. --- "Darn. To get to the Sand Ruby Cecil and Rydia had to go through the Watery
Passage. They met up with Tellah the Sage who was looking to go to
Damycan to find his daughter. She ran off with a Bard because he
wouldn't allowed them to be married. Tellah believes where they are
going, evil is present. He himself was going to go after them but
couldn't due to the fact that Octomamm a huge octopus was guarding the
exit of the cave. We were basically going where he was so he joined our

<3 the storyline so far. Its up there with FF2. As soon as Cecil and company arrived at Damcyan, Baron bombed their castle! Cecil, Rydia and Tellah search around the castle and found many wounded including Anna! When Tellah thought the worst the Bard came out and he rushed him. As Tellah was fighting him he utter the famous line "you spoony bard" XD i wasn't expecting it so early. During the fight Anna spoke, meaning she was ok for the moment. She revealed the Bard was in fact the Prince of Damcyan! The Prince said that a man named Golbez was controlling the airship during the attack. Cecil seems to have no idea who that is despite he was the last leader of the Red Wings. Turns out during the attack Anna shielded Prince Edward from the enemies' arrows saving his life by sacrificing hers. Now two crystals are in the possession of Baron, fire and water. Cecil mentioned the sandruby situation to Edward and he joined our party. Damcyan had an airship of sorts and he left them use it to get to the AntLion can so that is the next destination. --- "Darn. What version are you playing? Hopefully not the Final Fantasy "II"

If you hated Dark Cloud, wait until IV's last boss. What makes Dark Cloud more hateful is that it actually takes you back to the beginning of that looong dungeon if you die. |

FF3 is definitely the best out of the NES generation. There were some
points in which i wanted to stop playing and they were mostly my fault
but overall it was still better than FF2 and FF1. Hope you enjoy it as

Fought the Antlion and got the SandRuby. I found it funny how Edward
said it was a docile creature then it attacked him XD. Going back to
Kaipo to heal Rosa. Cecil and others used the SandRuby on Rosa and she became better but she was still not 100%. Rosa revealed that Golbez might be controlling the King to get all the crystals. Only two remain and the closest one to them is in Fabul so that is the next destination. However to get there Rydia is someone going to have to learn fire magic. Also during that night, Edward played some music in remiscent to Anna, but something attacked him. During the fight Anna appeared and cheered him on. Afterwards she told him to get all the crystals and to be strong. Now on to Fabul. Well Rydia of course doesn't wanna use Fire because of how it destroyed her mother and her village however Rosa convinced her if she doesn't more will perish. <3 Rosa. I'm glad she gets the Aim ability otherwise i would have given her a staff. That mountain was treacherous. Rydia and Rosa died a couple of times which i wasn't expecting so early in the game. I trained for a little while to get Rosa's level up. Then i approached the karate master Yang who apparently is Super Mario in disguise. He jumped on a couple of guys going ACHOOOOOOO and they vanished in thin air. Whatever communicable disease he had was deadly indeed. He defeated a couple more enemies but then a huge bomb faced him and Cecil's party assisted. MomBomb was one of the most interesting boss fights in FF history. First off bombs are still not weak to ice -_- Secondly first game in which a bomb can transform to explode. MomBombs second form was frightening for sure. When it said it was going to explode i thought my whole party was going to perish. Luckily it self-destructed into 6 bombs instead making the exploding more of a splitting than an attack. My party still took about 70 dmg though. The battle was made of pure win and fun. Hooray a party of five people. That is smexy forfexy. This game has emo
enemies. What kind of bird commits self-suicide? Also XD at Edward when
he get low damage. Awww too bad no other game has the piggy status
effect :( Hooray for good storylines. When i arrived at Fabul Castle Cecil's party immediately informed the King that Golbez was coming for his crystal. He was reluctant at first but Edward, someone he knew previous, convinced him to believe the situation at hand. So then Cecil and others tried to defend the castle. Many battles occurred resulting in retreat. Every time the party retreated to a different location swarms of enemies kept coming. They ended up in the throne in which a Fabul inhabitant opened the door for the enemy! As they retreated to the crystal room Edward fell in front of the enemies. After Cecil and Yang saved his ass they ended up in the Air Crystal room. At this point it seem like they might have saved the crystal however Kain appeared and challenged to fight Cecil! Kain was too much with his jump ability so Cecil fell. Then the big cheese Golbez appeared and instructed Kain to receive the crystal. WTF Square! I talked to a woman and i wanted to see her dance however she turned into a disease ridden man! NO Square NO!!!!! Cecil and others got a ship from the King of Fabul. Now they can go to Baron to see if Cid will make them an airship so that man they could have the upper hand in the war for the crystals. However during the trip the master of the sea, Leviathan (im not calling it Leviatan) appeared and caused much turmoil. In fact it knocked Rydia off the ship. Yang jumped in after her and Edward also finds some way to mess up in the face of danger so he got knocked out unconscious. Cecil got sucked into the whirlpool that Leviathan created and now has been isolated from the rest of the party. Cecil ended up in Mysidia! Its funny if you talk to someone in town they turn you into a toad so naturally if you talk to him again you get out of it. I found that humorous. LOL another talk someone out of the screen glitch. WTF?!?!! That ****** i talked to another dancer but this time she caused Cecil to become sleepy and he woke up a pig! Ok its official Mysidians are asses. I'm not to blame for Baron's actions (ok maybe a little)!!!!! Talked to a bartender and he forced Cecil to drink a poisonous beverage :( The people of Mysidia want me to renounce my dark sword and go to Mt. Ordeals to see if i can obtain the sword of sacredness. They even gave me a black and white wizards to help in my quest. So on to Mt.Ordeals with Palom and Porom. --- "Darn. Twin Powers activate! Comet Power!!!!!! Awesome. I'm loving this game
<3. Hooray for White Chocobos i didn't know that Twin uses mp for
comet and flare :( This game also has the best spell animations evar! Ok im doing Mt. Ordeals now. The twins helped Cecil clear a tower of fire, meanwhile Golbez knows of the climb of becoming a Paladin so he sent an elemental fiend to dispose of the Dark Knight. While exploring the mountain the party met up with Tellah! He is on the mountain to look for Meteo the ultimate spell. One of the twins mentioned something about spying on me XD. They aren't too subtle. Tellah joined the party and now its time for Cecil to look for the sword and the others to get Meteo. One of the twins thought that the other was hitting each other but it was in fact the Earth Elemental Milon. We defeated him and he said something about his body. That immediately to me meant that he was going to come back. I didn't expect for him to come back so soon. The first ever back attack boss fight. Cecil was welcoming into the sanctuary of the sword by his own
father!!!! For him to gain the power of light he had to doing nothing.
Sometimes fighting isn't the only way to win and Cecil had to learn
that in order to gain his new powers. Somehow the power of the power
