neon: so would you consider yourself a "graphics whore"? and do you think this is necessarily a bad thing? I wouldn't consider myself as such. I'm a multiplayer whore, and most early games simply don't feature the multiplayer I want. Games where I can play with and against other players have really dominated my playtime in the past several years. I'm not a video game superstar, so I'm not in dire need of competition and proving myself.. I just enjoy the thrill of team play, especially against other teams. I prefer co-op games to strict pvp games, i.e. I like Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance and Marvel Ultimate Alliance much more than fighting games. That's also part of why I get so annoyed when I say "I dont like SSBM" and everyone just piles on the YOU DONT HAVE FRIENDS. Not only is it a moronic as hell thing to say, it's an inaccurate judgment of my preference - I love playing multiplayer games. That said, I do love good graphics. More so than the awesome resolution, I like the widescreen. But I do have an HD set and I never leave the HD channels. I think HD is amazing. Oh, I also play Final Fantasy IV (advance..) and Shining Force (also the GBA port) over and over. I do have the original SF cart but I sold my Genesis when I needed spending money in college. --- Stonehenge, where the demons dwell Where the banshees live and they do live well |

Luis Sera - a bigger project, eh? what do you think about the
increase in board projects over the past few weeks? is it contributing
to making the board better or is it taking away from more interesting
topics? Harmonica - I see.. I feel that way about a lot of RPGs these days. it seems like they run out of money and just kind of toss a lot at the end. the recent Xenosaga and Shadow Hearts games made me feel this way, though I still think both were great games. do you ever play any lesser known RPGs? modern RPGs, I mean, not oldass things like Nethack! (I dunno if Nethack is really an RPG, but eh) pikaness: I like Sudoku.. it's kind of pointless and a colossal waste of time, but then again, I spend time on board 8. what's your favourite colour? is it also your favourite colour to wear? Naye: 24 is awesome because of how ludicrous it is. it wouldn't be the same if the world wasn't about to end every 15 minutes. give me your thoughts on these games: Warioware FF6 Minesweeper Checkers Brak: She's doing well. I showed her Little Miss Sunshine, and she loved both the movie and the soundtrack, so now she's getting into all the artists who were on that. Moon Safari is growing on me! On an unrelated note, she hinted to me that she'd like me to go to college with her in some foreign country and I was like "WHOOOOOOOA HOLD ON THERE BABY" good! Moon Safari is top 20 to me, I think. I'm working on a list right now, I'll show it to you next week. another Air album will be top 10 though. and sucks on your girlfriend! aren't you only like 16? well, you've got time at least. tell me what you think of these songs: http://transience.paragonsigma.com/The_Shredders-Captain_Planet-live.mp3 http://transience.paragonsigma.com/dyschordia/dyschordia%20-%20misericordia.mp3 Repus: ahh, so Super Destroy is your next "main"? cool, I like that better than your current one, it seems so.. I don't know, alt-like I guess. what do you think about DEATHMATCH being closed down for disruptive posting, despite us not using alts to bypass the flooding rule? fair or no? Yerond: "what do you think is the single most important website on the internet?" uhh... important hmm? For me its probably a tie between this and Youtube, but that's not important for most people. I suppose some News site or something like that would interest people much more, something like CNN or something. It's hard to rate "importance" importance by what? number of people that go there? Quality of content? Whatever the requirement, there's so many, it's just impossible to say, except at a personal level. CNN? no way -- if CNN ceased to exist, stuff like MSNBC or other news sites would still be there. to me, it's wikipedia. you remove wikipedia from the internet and there's a gaping hole that would need to get filled. sure another one would be made, but it would take a long time for something like that to get off the ground. second place would be google, because despite the fact that other websites do the same things that google does, google is the damn backbone of the internet - take it down and everything changes. google ads, google earth, gmail, the best search engine, etc etc. who knows what else google does. youtube I guess, but that wasn't really established by them. personally, my private music torrent site is #1, GameFAQs #2. I think GF is up there in importance as well because there's no other site like it. lose it and you lose a buttload of information on games. anyway, what's the most expensive thing you've ever purchased? --- yzzyx |

My favourite color is yellow, and I always use pick it in games that have different colored tokens (like risk!) but I don't wear it all that often because I don't have many good yellow clothes. My favourite colors to wear are red and pink, but you can never go wrong with a good blue either ^_^ --- My name is Pikaness...and I love to fight. FAHtastic makes me touch myself at night |

BLADES. OF STEEL. I liked Blades of Steel back when, though I
haven't played it since the early 90's or something. mine has been
Final Fantasy since the day it was released. Contra would be a close
runner up. what about SNES? It's still the best hockey game to ever come out! =P And SNES has so many great games. As a system, it's easily my favorite. Chrono Trigger is my all-time favorite, so that's obviously number one. But Seiken Densetsu III and Final Fantasy VI are both top ten games, so I can't forget to mention those. And then there are games like Uncharted Waters: New Horizons, which I still play daily. And DKC2 was my first real video game obsession, which I still occasionally pick up and speed run. Live a Live and Super Mario World are also worth mentioning as favorites. And you can't forget classics like lttp and Super Metroid, although I feel that some (OoT and ZM) have since surpassed the originals. --- Rufus>Redtooth Nice list, I counted twenty that would be in my top ten - BlondeAfroHero7 |

From transience do you ever play any lesser known RPGs? modern RPGs, I mean, not oldass things like Nethack! (I dunno if Nethack is really an RPG, but eh) Well, I play Disgaea and plan to get Disgaea 2, but apart from them...not nearly as much as I'd want to. I don't have a job so I can't buy that many new games, and if I do buy a full-priced game, it's usually a "safe" and mainstream purchase like KH or FF. Besides, there are still many games that never get to Europe. Xenosaga III and the new Shadow Hearts don't even have a release date and Dragon Quest VIII was actually the first DQ game released in Europe. --- Harmonica I was owned worse than Kadaj by Rufus Shinra! |

I had long hair for.. nine years, then one day just shaved my head
and have done so ever since. for me it has nothing to do with how sexy
my head is, it's just a ton easier to not have any hair. what games do you like? I'm trying to think and nothing comes to mind.. maybe rhythm games? That's true, when I first cut my hair I was amazed at how fast it dried. However, short hair isn't hard at all to manage so I don't know if I'd shave it just to avoid having to mess with my hair. As for what games I like... yeah, I like rhythm games, and RPGs a lot. My top 10 is something like Lunar:SSSC Final Fantasy X Lunar:EBC Earthbound Pump It Up Zero Final Fantasy Tactics Suikoden II Chrono Trigger Metal Gear Solid 3 Phantasy Star Online ...or something like that. nope, no idea. hmm, about what percentage of the Duck Tales song do you know by heart? Umm, let me think... Right about 0%. Thats right, I don't even know their theme song. Actually I wasn't even aware they had that many songs other then there theme songs, unless it was just random songs they sang during the episodes. I do love music however and have a fairly diverse taste, ranging from classic rock to 90's rock, from "indie" rock to electronica, and from jam bands to video game music. I also like reggae, classical, jazz, J-pop, and early rap but unfortunately don't have that much knowledge of those areas. And I'm open to pretty much anything else. However even what I do like I rarely memorize the lyrics by heart. Usually I focus on the music itself and, except for the rare occasions, lyrics rarely stick out to much on a first listen. Of course I am usually working or driving or browsing or doing just about anything else while listening to music so I rarely get the chance to just listen. --- Only I can prevent forest fires?!?! measure those? I'm trying to keep the real specific stuff a secret, but I will give you an idea... snow: if I want to wage war on the moderators, how should I go about doing it? That's a good one. I'd say that it'd be most effective to just bug the ever living hell out of em'. Complain about everything that you could think of on MBH, and cause a ruckus when they close your topics. Another strategy would be to revive SA, but that might be difficult, give the actions they took to bring it down in the first place. It's not something you could do constantly. you'd have to do it in intervals to keep your mod history from destroying you over something like a 3KL. Overall, just do the small things that annoy them, without doing it so much that they can take you out in one round of moderations. It's probably a pretty lame plan, but it's the best I could come up with off the top of my head, and entails something I've never tried doing. --- Don't make me do it. what appeals to you about the UUL that makes you put so much effort
into it? and if you could change something about it, what would that
be? Do you want an ambiguated answer which is likely to make people think "Wow what a great guy?" or the real answer which is more likely to make people think "What a letdown that SE fellow is I thought he wasn't as shallow as that." I'm guessing the latter. In all honesty, I'd lurked B8 for too long and joining the whatpulse team didn't help me socialise with B8 anymore than before, thanks in part to the topic purging. I'd been watching Ayvuir previous attempt at the UUL and was quite disappointed when he decided not to go through with it but wholly understood his reasons. Then Yazzy decided to resurrect it. I knew that he was relatively unknown and knew that it was a job that was far too big for just one person, I even thought as much with Ayvuir. I honestly saw a great oppurtunity to get involved in something on B8 whilst helping out as well. So to put it bluntly. I had a domain going that wasn't being used. I was a fairly competent webdesigner and analyst due to previous experience in Economics and Statistics degree whilst also currently being enrolled in an English degree. I also wanted to get involved in B8 and the UUL was a prime oppurtunity. That's why I offered to help Yazzy and also being a man of my word, why I haven't dropped out of the project when things have conspired against me. I don't regret it for one second because I thoroughly enjoy the UUL, it's participants and doing the analysis (although I could probably use a hand in that department) |

RayDyn: I dare you to name me two RPGs that are "just as bad" as DW1. I mean, there's grinding and then there's what you do in DW1. I do love the game, it's classic to me, every monster, item and location, but god damn is that some grinding. what other RPGs are "classic" to you? for me, it's DW1, FF1, and for some weird reason, Xenogears. First the "classics," then I'll answer your other question, not an all inclusive list. Crystalis, FF1, SMRPG for some reason, FFIV, Breath of Fire, Chrono Trigger, Zedla (NES), Lufia II, Secret of Mana. There are some others I consider classics, or rather that I have fond memories of and still enjoy playing. As for RPGs that are "just as bad" as DW1, from the list I gave you,FF, FFIV, BoF, Crystalis, you ever try to get to the max lvl in those, in the case of Crystalis, lvl 16? I suppose you could argue that they aren't quite as bad as DW, but I didn't mind leveling in DW because of the enemies. give me your thoughts on these games: Warioware - most brilliant and fantastic creation of Nintendo since Super Metroid. And I'm not exaggerating, either. I love any game that offers me records to improve on, so it's no surprise that WarioWare is one of my favorites. >_> FF6 - I haven't played this in a while. I liked it a lot in the World of Balance, and not so much in the World of Ruin, so I never finished. FF4's better. Minesweeper - really addictive game that I also hate. Dekar: favourite Final Fantasy character? *FFT and FFX spoilers* I'd probably go with Delita. Loved the way his character developed. He had believable and interesting motivations for doing what he did, and the way he worked himself up to being king was nothing short of awesome. I do wish he got more screen time towards the end of the game, but he managed to be a great character anyway. I tend to love grey kinda villains, though. Like Jowy. Jowy rocks. And is so dreamy! (Damn it, windmage, stop working your hypnotic powers on me. :^(.) If we're talking main series only, though.... It's a much harder question to answer. It feels like all the pre-FF7 characters just don't get enough dialogue to be really interesting characters (with the exception of Gilgamesh, and Ultros!), the characters of FF7 and FF9 just felt...Bland even with the amount of screen time they got, and I hate the entire cast of FF8. I'd...Probably have to go with Tidus as my favorite character, out of the bunch. Probably not the most popular of picks, but I think he gets a bad rap do to the universally negative first impressions. I think his initial attitude upon entering Spira is, while not particularly endearing, understandable. It's the way he matures throughout the game that really makes him a quality character, even if his father (who would be my 2nd choice) is cooler than him. I think Planescape:Torment has spoiled me in terms of RPG character quality, though. I find it a bit hard to appreciate most characters from other games after playing it. It's like going from children's literature to high quality novels. <_<. --- Rufus Shinra 18 Wariowned me in the Guru contest! Haha, get it!? Because he wants us to nominate Wario! yazzy: does it bother you, even slightly, that you're known to some

if there was one thing you'd like board 8 to know about you, what is it? It doesn't really bother me. Before I took over the UUL from Ayvuir I didn't really get to know people here. I pretty much just voted in contests and kept to myself. Now, I have talked to quite a few of the people in the UUL and they are getting to know me. Plus I've started really getting involved in other projects such as Mercenaries where I have met and discussed other things with different people (MWIS, Shake). The thing I would like B8 to know about me would have to be my maturity. I'm 24, married, and have a full time job (from where I make most of my posts <_< Shhh). I offer help and suggestions when I can and am genuinely a nice person. It takes a lot to get me angry (one or two users have) and I think a lot of that comes from the fact that I'm mature enough not to worry about what other people on a message board think. On a side note, I'm really impressed with the thought you put into your questions. They are really meaningful and pertain directly to the person you are asking. share that bond that I'm just completely oblivious to. you could
probably make stupid corny Pokemon jokes and I'd be like "uhh..." what's the last game you beat? I don't know if I've ever seen you even mention a video game. Actually, just for clarity, the Pokemon Scoial Board was pretty much off-limits for any Pokemon talk. Hell, it was rumored that only a little over 1/3 the board had ever even played Pokemon. It was the Pokemon Yellow Board with no restrictions (Pokemon Yellow, pre-PSB, was pretty much a social board). Hell, there'd be mass chaos whenever the mods decided that an off-topic post pertaining to Pokemon on the actual gaming boards would be moved to the PSB. For maybe two years, before War Raichu's Tower of Doom or Castle of Doom, there next-to-no mention of Pokemon. Good times. Anyways, to answer you question... um... hold on...um... Maybe Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap back in September? I blaze through a game up until you can tell it's getting close to the end, and then I just sort of give up on the game and go play something else or I'll just stop playing halfway through because something else interests me and I can'tg o back to the game I was just playing ever. PepsiPlunge: I have a deceptively simple question for you - how are you? I'd like it if you went into detail. I'm doing just fine. Sadly there's no real details to go into. If there's something you're really wanting to know, just ask. --- HERO'S PLUNGE! Married to FFDragon June 01, 2005 |

eee: I can't tell anymore -- do you have a girlfriend? yes no maybe? Teehee. No I am single. The weird thing (which I'm sure everyone else deals with) is when I'm single I want to be in a relationship, and when I'm taken I want out. Oh well, I'll just keep getting these phone numbers and hopefully find the right girl. --- Game, set, and match. ~Tweeeked~ |

ExTha: Twilight Princess or FF7? I demand reasons. Heheh. Well... most people don't know this, but BEFORE Final Fantasy VII became my favorite game of all time, Ocarina of Time was my favorite. So I was actually a Zelda fan a long time before I was an Final Fantasy VII fan. So needless to say I was excited and disappointed by Wind Waker... and when the first screens for the "New Zelda" game came out I was one of the many people fanboyishly orgasming over it to hell and back... and about a month before TP's release I started anticipating it more and more... And now that I have completed it, the anticipation was warranted. TP's the best game ever. Yes, it tops FFVII for me. The only real thing that FFVII has over it is characters, story, and music(slightly). TP's gameplay is leaps and bounds better, and the music/characters aren't too far behind FFVII's. Twilight Princess, for me, was nearly everything I could ever want in a Zelda game, nay, a video game period. --- ~*~ExThaNemesis~*~ - Destroying Chainletters and Bears. mammerjammer says: (1st question) Clinton would win, hands-down. I believe Clinton has far superior intelligence, so if he had to outwit him, Clinton wins by a mile. (2nd question) Actually, I don't think it's the leaders who do most of the problem-solving anyway, like with Bush, he's pretty much Cheyney's puppet, so putting him in a steel cage does absolutely nothing since he's not the one who fights the bad guys anyway. So my answer to that would be no. I'm not the most comfortable discussing politics, so I hope you don't ask me any more questions about politics. I hope you steer away from questions about religion, politics, and sex. --- This was Ed Bellis. Rufus Shinra 18 took a shotgun to my bracket. Congrats, Guru champ! |

what kind of 2d games do you like? I actually am fine with both 2D and 3D; it's just 3D platformers that I like above all else. 3D platformers > 2D RPGs = 2D platformers > everything else > 3D RPGs --- th3l3fty Patrolman in Sir Chris' Police |

I hope you steer away from questions about religion, politics, and sex. and start asking questions like "favorite color jell o shot?" and "would you rather dual wield broken beer bottles or a single 40oz in a bar fight?" --- Stonehenge, where the demons dwell Where the banshees live and they do live well |
