6. Dahlia Hawthorne

- holy crap this girl is ****ing satan
- Dahlia's the only multi-case villain and she certainly takes the title of most successful villain of the series. she's twisted and deranged. she jumped off a bridge to keep her plans alive. she killed her sister, she tried to kill her sorta boyfriend, she pretty much killed Diego Armando, she tried to kill Mia's sister just because she couldn't kill Mia. she's freaking twisted.
- the reason Dahlia is awesome is because she has a personal relationship with seemingly everyone. Mia, Phoenix, Edgeworth, Maya, Godot.. everyone in PW3 has some connection to Dahlia, and she's just the most evil piece of scum that ever existed. part 4-2 of case 3-5 is just one big kick in the balls with her rubbing it in how Maya is dead. it's cruel, nasty, and awesome.
- I still think that if Dahlia was real she would have killed herself the second she realized she was being channeled by Maya, but that would kinda ruin the happy ending so whatever

my thoughts going into day 2 of the investigation was that misty fey summoned dahlia, who then killed herself, and that misty summoned her just to sacrifice herself so that pearl wouldn't be the killer. that would have been pretty awesome actually, but it turned out that misty wasn't the intended target anyway augh

true, but they still could've had her try, and have godot and phoenix stop her, which would've added to the whole "godot accepting phoenix" thing.

same predicts, just with mia and dahlia swtiched.

5 - Manfred von Karma

- the first time I played 1-4, I hated von Karma. he was annoying, he objected at everything, he was just a huge nuisance.
- replaying it, though? he's the greatest lawyer the game has ever seen. you could fuse Phoenix, Edgeworth and Franziska and you still wouldn't be able to touch von Karma. he is absolutely perfect, right down to the point where it seems like he's won the case even without any real evidence.
- von Karma puts the fear of god into Phoenix moreso than any other prosecutor. he basically won a Guilty sentence, and useless Maya of all people was the only thing keeping Edgeworth alive. he's just a perfect lawyer. he doesn't even so much as sweat until you present the metal detector.
- as a "last boss", von Karma is absolutely perfect. there's nothing more thrilling than taking this guy down in Phoenix Wright -- no, in gaming period. I don't particularly like the guy, but as far as an antagonist goes, no one's close in the PW series.

The only thing I would have liked to see out of von Karma that we didn't was some fake evidence...he didn't think he needed it, (though he did go to the trouble of fixing the goddamn parrot), but it would have made him even more sinister. As is, I think the only piece of tainted evidence we get is the second autopsy report that Edgeworth presents in 1-2.

4 - Mia Fey

- I've always loved Mia, ever since case 1-2. whenever she appears, awesome things happen. the only time I haven't enjoyed a random Mia appearance is when she basically tells you the solution to von Karma in 1-4.
- plus, she's a pretty awesome lawyer. she's basically Phoenix-lite, jumping in head-first and then explaining stuff later. I love her in 3-4, she goes all-out despite having no help (even from her own client) and being constantly lured into traps by Edgeworth.
- I still think it's stupid how she's more inept during 3-1 than she is in 3-4 though, darn you trial cases

3 - Dick Gumshoe

- lovable, stupid, honest, unbelievably devoted, awesome
- coming to your rescue in 1-3: aw yeah
- helping you out no matter the cost in 1-5: aw yeah
- 2-4 Gumshoe, where he does anything conceivable to save Maya: awwwww yeah
- his only flaw is when Maggey is involved, but everyone's got a weakpoint
- for Gumshoe it's whips, telephone poles and the girl with the worst luck in the world
- I guess that makes him even more unlucky than her

Diego's more of a help than Grossberg, at least in the sense that he says something and then makes Mia explain it. It sort of like splitting Phoenix into two characters - the one who comes up with a crazy theory and then the one who actually backs it up five minutes later. Grossberg just talks about his ass the whole trial.

2 - Miles Edgeworth

- one of the deepest characters in all of gaming, and definitely the deepest in PW
- unpredictable, good with words, you never know which side he's on
- undeniably a better lawyer than Phoenix, as evidenced by his AWESOME CAMEO
- best moment: coming to your rescue in 1-3 ("verily, I say, ergo!")
- best moment #1a: pretty much the entirety of 2-4. 2-4 Edgeworth is easily my favourite character in the series.
- personal favourite moment that no one else probably cares about but me: Miles von Karma, where he's got Manfred mannerisms in case 3-4. that made me go "whoa!!!!!!!!!!!" and I loved every second of that case because of it. the finger wag~

1 - Phoenix Wright

- he's kind of simple, talks before thinking and gets abused by everyone he's ever met. man, it's a good thing he's the protagonist or there's no way he'd ever be able to win these cases, because everyone sans Godot is a better lawyer than he is.
- but it's his unrelenting, never-say-die belief in his clients that spur him on even when everyone else would say "you know what? screw this." Phoenix just fights and fights and fights on the premise that the evidence will sort itself out, and he's always lucky enough that it does.
- best moment: taking von Karma down, defending Edgeworth when he had already confessed. too bad he needed Mia's help.
- without Edgeworth, PW is still great. without Phoenix, I can't even imagine it. so he barely edges Edgeworth out for my top spot.
