You can refuse all you like, but it is not only possible, it is fact. Well, I never expected everyone to agree entirely
with my view on the game, especially after the first couple dozen posts
in the topic. I do hope it's an entertaining read, though, so I'm glad

Another boring ES boss follows. This one actually has damage and has
what looks like way more HP than the previous ones! Then you remember
that you just got Anima Awakening Level 3 and the special attacks that
go with it. It dies. How the HELL was the Omega Metempsychosis battle BORING?! Did you have the ****ing volume on your TV turned down or something? Go download godsibb and listen to it 100 times. Go do it now. |

Well, I had planned to play a little bit more to see how long the Kill Villain -> Walk Three Screens pattern would repeat itself, but I'm tired. So I'll just update with what I've got. Day 11/12 Heinlein: Margulis, quit acting according to your ideals and everything I've told you to believe it! Margulis: But then we'll never be able to return to Lost Jerusalem where our [insert religious reference here] sleeps! Heinlein: Right, about that... *Heinlein reveals himself to be Wilhelm* Wilhelm: ...it's not happening. That faith of yours which made you so useful is beginning to get troublesome. Margulis: Huh? Wilhelm: 6,000 years ago... your "Lord" died, his "Words," which were really a computer program made by God to dissolve the universe, were passed down. Ormus's true form is that of a really old lockbox I can keep said program and some additional religious artifacts in. Margulis: That's so dumb -- wait, then going back to Lost Jerusalem... Wilhelm: I made that up, yeah. Margulis: So everything we've done has been meaningless. Wilhelm: You can pretend it wasn't, if that makes you feel better. Now hold on a sec where I say something vague about my origins... okay. *Wilhelm summons the remaining Testaments* Margulis: What the hell? Voyager is still alive?! Isn't his only plot relevance in a cellphone game? Who's bright idea was it to make him one of the last two remaining? Wilhelm: Never mind that. Now that I've revealed that everything you've done in your life has been a sham, would you mind still doing everything I tell you to do? Margulis: 'kay. Our intrepid heroes manage to escape the vicious space battle and arrive on Miltia. Jr.: Okay, let's explore the city. The crew of the Elsa can stay here to escape if things go poorly. Former Temp PC, you're with us. Allen: Wait, why am I going? Jr.: We need someone to babysit Shion. Canaan, stop angsting in the corner over there and co-pilot Jin's ES. So, of course, with universe still in imminent danger, it's sidequestin' time! After getting some of the easier-to-get final weapons, I go to track down Jr.'s albino rat or dog or whatever it is on the Durandal, and, after I find it, it slowly walks away while my character does nothing, and it activates the transport on its own. What the hell kind of dog is this? I try the Omega Universitas fight, and easily plaster it, but then ZOMG IT ACTIVATES PROGRAM ID ZOMG ZOMG ZENOGAIS!! Like most ES bosses, it was more stupidly long than it was difficult. It actually had damage, I'll give it that, but it never killed anyone. The healing was obnoxious, but I still managed to win with a Finish Strike. Take that, Xenogears cameo! Now MOMO can rape the rest of the game with 1 EP Blood Dancer. Now for the other optional boss. Can someone explain why Erde Kaiser Sigma sounds like a stereotypical movie drill sergeant? I'm diggin' the battle theme, though. The battle was simple, now that Ziggy had Heartbreaker, MOMO had Blood Dancer, and Jin had the Nine Stones equipped. It never even killed anyone. Even the optional bosses in this game suck. Oh well, I managed to Finish Strike it with a Blood Dancer'D MOMO (I wanted to hit it with Intruder, but I started to have trouble gaining Boost), so now I probably have more SP than I know what to do with. Scene afterwards fails for Dark Professor in Robot Monkey saying the "highlight of my life and the greatest experience I ever had" was meeting Shion. I cannot imagine what sort of unspeakable suffering leads to that being the highlight of ones life. Not even him putting his brain in a robot monkey rusting from the sea air could save it. After that, I continue along with the plot when, suddenly, SURPRISE
ATTACK... by characters not even important enough to have artwork. Who
the hell gave these losers ESes, anyway? "That voice! You bastards are still alive?!" Even the other characters forgot these guys were still around. Three screens after them, Pellegri shows up. Pellegri: God says it's okay for Ormus do whatever we want in the name of justice. Jin: PERHAPS THE SAME COULD BE SAID OF ALL RELIGIONS! Pellegri: Ha ha, yeah. Turns out everything I believed in was a lie, too. But I'm here, so let's fight to the death anyway. And after the battle... Pellegri: I lose. Time for me to die. Jin: You could, you know, just bail out. Pellegri: I told you, I'm not like you. We must lead our own paths in life. Our paths were parallel, not perpendicular. They did not cross. Jin: So your path is to die here? With no build-up or anything? Pellegri: Mmm. Such is the fate of all antagonists who stuck around for Disc 2. Besides, I have nothing to live for anyway, with everything I've strived for being a sham and all. Jin: You could live and try to fight me again, if that works. Pellegri: Nah, I'm good. Besides, the series' budget doesn't allow for it. Farewell. *Pellegri's ES blows up, and Voyager flies by and grabs the Vessel of Anima right after* Ziggy: ... MOMO: Ziggy, what's wrong? Jr.: This better not be more cellphone game angst. Ziggy: Shut up. At least you got a couple of hours for your brotherly homoeroticism story arc. This is the only time during the game where I even have any lines. Anyway, I know where we need to go to get the plot moving. Follow me. Three screens and a few minutes of me blowing up pillars and religious statues looking for items later, I arrive inside the cathedral. Voyager: I knew you'd come here, Jan Sauer. Ha! See? I know your real name! I do have a backstory beyond you shooting a bunch of missiles at me in Episode 2! Jr.: Cellphone game again? Ziggy: Yeah. He killed my wife and son here. Voyager: Ha! I bet that still bothers you, doesn't it? Ziggy: Really? I'm still bothered by watching you kill my wife and son right in front of me, while I could do nothing about it because that's when you started God-Moding? You think? Voyager: Hey, we offered to let you become a Testament, too. If you had listened to me, maybe Wilhelm wouldn't have have let Kevin in. MOMO: Ziggy could've been a Testament? Voyager: Sure, all of you could have. Even Shion. Our standards aren't very high. "He" knows this, and "he" has been watching you through the special Realian "he" has been using to spy on you. I'm talking about Canaan, if you hadn't guessed. Or should I say... Lactis! Oh, swerve! Ziggy: Lactis? That Lactis?! But that means... Canaan: Ugh. Yeah. We three all grew up in the same cellphone game. Jin: Wait, Canaan's a spy? Jr.: That can't be true! Canaan: ... Voyager: Don't be so hard on him. He was created to be a spy. Just like you were created to be a weapon, MOMO was created to provide gratuitous pantyshots, and Shion was created to destroy all of humanity. Ziggy: Whatever. Why did you become a Testament, anyway? Voyager: Eternal hedonism, basically. I only torment you because you chose to kill yourself rather than hang out with me for all eternity. That's just rude. Ziggy: This is why you want to fight here again? Voyager: Yes! This time, I'll kill you before you can resort to suicide. Like how I killed your son, HAW HAW. I'm Jack Chick evil! Ziggy: Yeah? Well "Erich" is a stupid way to spell "Eric." Voyager's ES was basically Omega Id with a lot less durability, less damage, and no healing cheese. Worse than the two immediately previous ES Boss fights, which were so uninspiring I didn't even feel the need to write anything about them. Afterwards, Voyager uses his plot hax to no-sell everything Ziggy throws at him, only to get out-smarted by a temp PC. I guess no one told him what happens when you try to become God in this series. I really loathe the ES fights in Michtam. they're all so damn
irritating, accuracy is rather low and they just take forever. I'll

Kevin actually packs a punch.. well probably not at your level if
you've done a bunch of optional stuff, but he's certainly a nice step

I really loathe the ES fights in Michtam. they're all so damn

The first one just becomes Richard spamming his Anima attack every other round, Pellegri takes far longer than she should because she has no weaknesses, and Voyager might randomly become immune to most of your damage (fire immunity made it impossible for Jin to build up any Anima, beam did the same for MOMO... not that she could hit any of the Michtam ES bosses most of the time). I don't remember Gear fights too well, but I remember them being better than this crap. Kevin actually packs a punch.. well probably not at your level if you've done a bunch of optional stuff, but he's certainly a nice step up from the previous boss. Looking over what he can do, he has a lot of annoying status attached to his attacks, and his ultimate looks vicious. It would probably even overkill my overleveled tank god Ziggy. Whether or not he actually lives to get one off between Heartbreaker, Blood Dancer, and Heaven Tracker is another story. He's no Koroku, that's for sure. Suiko3 dogs stand head and shoulders above all other dogs. Especially Kogoro, since he can do so literally with hind legs hax. --- I'm dumb, I know. - Heroic Mario I'm dumb, I know. - tranny |

Gear fights are repetitive, but at least they're painless. you have no
problem dealing damage and they're never frustrating. not so for ES

yeah, Opiomorph. the only reason that was painful was because of the
Ramsus fight before and the HP->1 hax. I don't think that fight is
too bad -- I find it rather enjoyable, but it is indeed one of the

Ziggy's entire backstory (and Voyager's too, by association) is from a
cellphone game. I'm sure Monolith did this to personally annoy me,

Just a short update for now. Day 13 Well, it wasn't quite three screens away, but Margulis shows up soon enough after I check some files to add cellphone game stuff to my database. The best way I can think to sum up this scene is Margulis: i wuz wrong about everythang i beleaved in my ded suborndinates are lucky 2 b ded my mastR rejected me hay lets fite DIE UUUZUUUUUKIIIII Ugh. It's terrible seeing one of the series foremost and most prominent antagonists through all three games reduced to this. Oddly ironic that he's so desperate now to leave his mark on the world (through an overly long ES battle, of all things...), considering leaving behind a legacy is exactly what he used to convince Cherenkov to join U-TIC. Speaking of overly long ES battles, whoever thought it was a good idea to give one of those the ability to halve all damage needs to be killed before they can pass on their genes. It's virtually every other ES boss battle in the game, except about twice as long because of the damage halving. And he reapplies the damage halving just when you finally start to tear it down. And then he increases his speed, agility, and accuracy, because this fight wasn't dragging on long enough. And, after the fight, Margulis kills himself so that he doesn't lose to Jin on a technicality. Good going, Margulis; you're a real winner. Now it looks like the plot if going to start focusing on Shion again, which scares me so much that I turn off the game. I might play more later, since I want this game to be done with soon, but Shion may be more than I can handle at the moment. --- I'm dumb, I know. - Heroic Mario I'm dumb, I know. - tranny |

Not really...the plot revelation and Shion being a super douche are
mostly disconnected...if he is referring to what I think he's referring
to...of course they basically happen one after the other...so if he
hate the plot revelation, he will have no time to recovery before the

I dont really hate Xenosaga Tranny, Ive only played like 4/5 hours of

lol ff8 Semi's recounts are rather exaggerated -- for entertainment, of course. you can do that with any RPG to make it sound silly. Please don't let a biased playthrough topic (and Shion, who lol sucks hardcore even I admit it k) make you not buy this game. Though it it rushed, thats because they had to wrap up (most of) a 6 game series in one game. And in case anyone cares, Episode 1 and Episode 2 were pretty much supposed to be Episode 1, and Episode 3 was really supposed to be Episode 2.
