Same here. --- In life you have to do a lot of things you don't ****ing want to do. Many times, that's what the **** life is... one vile ****ing task after another. - Al Swearengen |

Practically everything is a "cliche" these days, so it's all about how
well you pull it off. Auron was one of those that did it really well. --- Called "Godslayer" by some, feared by most. |

I've gotta do one of these lists. For starters I wouldn't even be
getting predictions coz no-one would even know who I'd have on! ^5 tranny for unpopular choices and Edgeworth --- "Eet's game time..." |

Watching that was far more enjoyable than actually having to put in
more quarters when it happened, but that game is still fun as hell. ~=~ ~=S.H.A.R.P.=~ You are another of Big Bosses failed clones. You have your own television show. I believe you go by the name of "Jack Bauer" Cloud and Squall |
transience | Posted 6/17/2007 7:12:21 PM | message detail | #065 |
as a kid, I used to get unlimited quarters for three hours for $5 and
I'd spend them all dying repeatedly in Dragon's Lair. that, TMNT and
The Simpsons were where I used to spend those Saturdays. it was so
awesome, the highlight of my shallow and entertaining childhood. --- xyzzy *waits patiently for CJayC to announce a Game Contest* |
LeonhartForever | Posted 6/17/2007 8:44:12 PM | message detail | #066 |
Auron...cliche? Well, I guess, but I
personally felt like he broke the mold for your standard Square bad boy
archetype because he actually, you know, had emotions and a past. --- "I'm only here to see how the story plays out. Any self-respecting leading man would do the same." - Balthier *waits for Games Contest announcement* |

this list is wacky --- I made a living on time trial blowing myself off to cross the finish line at ludicrous speed. -transience |
transience | Posted 6/17/2007 11:49:26 PM | message detail | #073 |
also, I hate the term "cliche". freaking
everything is "cliche" since pretty much any archetype has been done
before. you have to make up something really weird in order for it not
to be cliche, and then you're just doing it to be different. I dunno,
cliche is one of those words that's meant to be disparaging or
defamatory without actually meaning anything. it's like "pretentious".
I hate both words. it all depends on how good the cliche is. --- xyzzy *waits patiently for CJayC to announce a Game Contest* |
meisnewbie | Posted 6/17/2007 11:50:28 PM | message detail | #074 |
Cliche is a word used when a person has nothing else to say and they feel something is the SAME about the character. --- Eh? Easy Mode? How Disgusting! Only Elementary School Kids should play on Easy Mode. |

Ha, me and my friends were all playing Dragon's Lair on a modded Xbox. Even armed with a FAQ, we still couldn't make it to the end. Augh, I can imagine the quarters wasted on that game! --- Currently playing: Guitar Hero 2, Gears of War, Saint's Row, SotN (XBLA), Burnout Revenge |

#20 - Zidane (Final Fantasy IX) Zidane.. hm. I hear the term "a breath of fresh air" thrown around in comparison to the series' two previous moody mains and I do agree in a sense, but I think that's overblown. Zidane isn't cool because he's not-Cloud or not-Squall, he's cool because he just.. is. he's always there to help others, even though he has utterly no reason to do so. his helpful attitude with Vivi, his constant picking on Steiner, the way he calls Freya "Helga" in Lindblum.. he's just fun. there's nothing special about him, he's just a likable guy that makes for a good lead. plus, he's got some coolass attacks. his trance is ridiculously overpowered and I like those Serge-esque two-handed weapons he wields. god knows what they're actually called. Zidane is upbeat and enjoyable and just really likable. (though I will say that his five-minute "transformation" in Pandemonium is really out of character and stupid. poor choice of writing there, FF9.) --- xyzzy *waits patiently for CJayC to announce a Game Contest* |

My mom just got a puppy that is mostly black with some white and she didn't want a normal name for it so I suggested Lulu. She called it Jodie. ~Shaggy~ --- I'm...I'm so sorry! I just couldn't help it. I had to poo and your friend looked like a toilet. - Minipoooot |

#19 - Cloud (Final Fantasy VII) Cloud is fun. he's really stupid at the beginning of FF7, but once he gets over his whole "whatever" kick, he's a fun character with an interesting relationship with Sephiroth, and once he's "united" I think he makes for a great leader. ...but let's be honest here, that's not why people like Cloud. people like Cloud because he's got a hugeass sword and cool limit breaks. I love busting dudes with climhazzard and blade beam and meteorain and whatever else Cloud has. his attack animations are fun, too. and that's the main reason I like him. I think people just attach character depth to Cloud so they don't have to admit that they like him because of spiky hair and mammoth swords. I've got no problem with being so shallow though !! --- xyzzy *waits patiently for CJayC to announce a Game Contest* |

aww yeah cloud --- Called "Godslayer" by some, feared by most. |
LeonhartForever | Posted 6/18/2007 12:24:39 AM | message detail | #099 |
Tranny totally stole that from me, leaving out the "Let's mosey" part just so it wouldn't be an obvious act of plagiarism! --- "I'm only here to see how the story plays out. Any self-respecting leading man would do the same." - Balthier *waits for Games Contest announcement* |
therealmnm | Posted 6/18/2007 12:25:00 AM | message detail | #100 |
people like Cloud because he's got a hugeass sword and cool limit breaks. wtf copycat But yeah, I couldn't care less about Cloud's "character" and especially his relationship with Sephiroth. It's all about kicking ass! Counter counter counter counter-deathblow! I also agree with Cloud's attack animations being cool. Especially 4x Slash. And of course, his limit breaks kick ass. --- Currently playing: Guitar Hero 2, Gears of War, Saint's Row, SotN (XBLA), Burnout Revenge |
