#17: O'aka XXIII (Final Fantasy X) ..I can't even explain this one. I could try reasoning with why I like O'aka, but I'm not even totally sure. he's just completely awesome. I'm sure it has to do with the voice and the name. O'aka's voice actor always makes me laugh, especially with how he says OHHWWOKKA. it's just an awesome name, and when you add the twenty-third onto the end it sounds even better. obviously he doesn't do much and he doesn't have any cool scenes or anything like that, but I'm always like "awwww yeah" whenever I see the dude. --- xyzzy *waits patiently for CJayC to announce a Game Contest* |

#16 - Alice Elliott (Shadow Hearts) Alice isn't the most unique character in the world. she starts out as your typical damsel-in-distress and acts the part for the first ~5 hours of the game. she even looks the part, what with the thin blonde character model and the schoolgirl outfit she rocks and all that good stuff. Alice shines through her relationship with Yuri though. as she comes to accept Yuri, she's extremely protective of him and does whatever she can and then some to help out. it's really the opposite of the typical damsel in distress role once the game gets going. a girl being the protector of the protagonist? haw. all those scenes in the graveyard are really awesome and the way she accepts the burden is really impressive. on top of all that, she's just cool to have around. I like her character design. (well, except for her super itty bitty microskirt -- I really dislike "fanservice" in general) I love the fact that she beats dudes down with a freakin' bible. she's got awesome healing spells. plus, every time she gets mentioned or shows up in SH2 is great. how can you mess with a girl who beats up monsters with a bible??? --- xyzzy *waits patiently for CJayC to announce a Game Contest* |

Lord Magnuis can suck it. ..who is Lord Magnuis? *googles* "do you mean Lord Magnius?" oh, Symphonia? pfft! he better be the guy with the crazy red hair. that dude's hair was the best part of his character! not that there's anything wrong with that. RE4 merchant? I played RE4 for the first time on Friday and got about ~10 minutes in. seemed like a decent game, awkward controls at first but I'm sure I can adjust if it's gotten so damn popular. --- ..r |

#15: Crono (Chrono Trigger) I like silent mains. they usually have to get by on their designs, and I have a thing for spiky haired dudes with swords. they're overdone, but some end up being memorable to me regardless. Crono's one of those. I like silent mains because so many RPG characters end up saying stupid things or having annoying voices or something along those lines. you really can't screw up a silent main. I wish Crono talked when he's clearly prompted to do so, but otherwise I don't mind him shutting the crap up. good on him. of course, I wouldn't like Crono if I didn't like his game or his attacks a lot. cyclone is awesome, his double techs are cool and you can't mess with luminaire. plus he's got that cool scene with Lavos, so he's not completely devoid of personality. --- zizzy *hopes for a Game Contest announcement* |

I had Serge at 25 but then dropped him off the list since it's been so
long since I've played CC. I might even like him more than Crono, I
don't know, it's just that I don't remember CC well enough to comment
on its protagonist. my memory of CC at this point is like.. the
beginning up to Viper Manor, Dragonia, Miguel, the Dragons and the end.

#14: Kuja (Final Fantasy IX) everything's just more fun when Kuja's around. you can list the best scenes in FF9 and all of them involve Kuja in some way. he's pretty much the best FF villain because he gets under people's skin, he's poetic and he inspires some of the best stuff in the series. Burmecia, Cleyra, the scenes at the end of cd2, the Black Mage stuff in Mt. Gulg, all the awesome at the end of cd3 and the ending. Kuja's basically an improved version of Sephiroth, with the only real difference being that he looks like a chick. oh well. --- zizzy *hopes for a Game Contest announcement* |

haha steven GBA ones were just.. stupid. randomized dungeons? come on, that's just lazy. PSP ones are even worse -- they're puzzle dungeons with time limits, and you have to sacrifice abilities in order to get said time. if it runs out you start getting poisoned and really difficult enemies start encountering you like every other step. augh who thinks of this stuff --- zizzy *hopes for a Game Contest announcement* |

alright enough kuja love #13: Fei Fong Wong (Xenogears) man, Fei is an angsty little slut for the first 10 or so hours of this game. Fei is a sheltered amnesiac with a happy life, and when his past starts to find him, he rejects it and turns into a major emo kid. I can't really blame the dude, but his disaster response is less than ideal, or at least not what you'd hope for in a fictional character. but man, you want to talk about personal growth? screw that Tidus crap, Fei's where it's at. Fei's got at least a dozen spoilers locked up inside him, but by the end of the game he accepts every last one of them and still continues to fight for his cause, and harder than anyone else at that. I think Fei's personal growth throughout the game is really interesting given all the hardships he has to endure. plus he's got cool deathblows and stuff and he knows kung fu aw yeah --- zizzy *hopes for a Game Contest announcement* |

Fei because of his personality, not that people didn't think Fei had
one. he's got tons of inner struggle going on - Grahf, Lahan, Elly,
probably some other stuff. he's got his willingness to fight. he's got
