56 - Mastermage119 interesting kid. Mastermage's hobby on the board is making a topic that looks serious but is actually a joke. he writes these huge posts about how he wants a sex change or how the PSP is superior to the DS or how a friend of his got run over in a school parking lot or whatever.. and there's always a couple of people willing to believe him. they're enjoyable when the entire board knows they're jokes and plays along. there's always a couple of new kids who get burned when that happens. other than that though, I've never understood the purpose of the joke topics. I generally believe someone until I have a reason not to believe them. if you fooled me, so what? with Mastermage, I have a hard time taking him seriously in the first place because half of what he says is so facetious. when he argued for Castlevania to beat Halo, no one could tell if he was being serious or not. we probably still don't know. that's not my favourite part of Mastermage. my favourite Mastermage is the one that posts in the stats topic and comes off as being older than he is. I remember when I found out he was 14 (probably 15 or 16 now), I was like "whoa, no way." I also like the kid who's just chatting idly on the board without trying to fool people. I like jokes, but I don't really see the point in trying to fool people. maybe you're laughing hysterically behind the computer, I have no idea. it doesn't really matter to me. I just like you a lot when you're being a regular old board 8er and not trying to drive people nuts. --- iddqd "MY SLEEPING PATTERNS ARE SHOT THANKS TO YOU AND YOUR FANFICTION" -windmage |

how a friend of his got run over in a school parking lot or whatever That one was actually true. It wasn't my friend though, just a kid I knew that was a grade above me. 55 - tnote827 one of my first favourite stats topic guys. I always liked reading what tnote had to say on the analysis crew as well. tnote is a crazed college basketball fan and an insane Illinois fan. if I remember right, he lost his main account in an account bet on Illinois/North Carolina. he now posts on Heroic Viktor. (who was that bet against? I have no idea.) he may not post much anymore (mostly because he got a real job where he works 60 hours a week), but he has no problem coming back in March and writing a huge diatribe about the NCAA tournament. he usually will show up during contest time as well and still participates in the Oracle. (he owned the Oracle in 2005 until something near the end set him way back.) tnote always struck me as a nice guy, provided you weren't arguing over college basketball. --- iddqd "MY SLEEPING PATTERNS ARE SHOT THANKS TO YOU AND YOUR FANFICTION" -windmage |

I completely agree about Mastermage coming off smarter, nimbler and wittier then his years warrant. We disagree a bit on his other qualities, but that's to be expected. 54 - RPGuy96 back when the board wasn't as lol x-stats as it is now, the stats topic would have people writing these huge posts with dozens of numbers all over the place. thanks to the awful bracket in 2k4 and the fodder of the Villains Contest, the x-stats were pretty much thought of as infalliable. the only time they were wrong were simple SFF matches like Sora/Aeris or boosts people didn't account for. looking back at it, it makes sense that people were so x-stats oriented because they had never really been tested. RPGuy was the x-stat master. I can remember some posts of his that absolutely baffled me and I consider myself pretty good with numbers. in particular, I remember a two-post proof of his on why Luigi would beat Tifa that was amazing. it's always been kinda weird to me that while RPGuy knows his x-stats inside and out, he always makes crazy picks in his bracket. his 2k5 bracket had like 15 upsets or something. RPGuy's recent thing is the NCAA games tournament, probably my favourite board contest ever. I love that thing and everyone should vote in it when he gets back from vacation. RPGuy dedicates an entire website to the contest, has an RPI and even makes unbelievable match pictures. some of my faves: http://www.rit.edu/~zmb0386/ChronoRPG.jpg http://www.rit.edu/~zmb0386/SnakeSymphony.jpg Guy isn't just smart though, he's also entertaining. he makes me laugh whenever he does F-Zero GX imitations. he's also a big FE4, LTTP and (obviously) RPG fan. I'm just waiting for him to get back so I can watch 20 Nintendo games battle against each other to see what the most popular game is here. --- iddqd "MY SLEEPING PATTERNS ARE SHOT THANKS TO YOU AND YOUR FANFICTION" -windmage |
