transience's top 100 users with writeups - part 5 (the top 5!)

ad00 | Posted 9/5/2006 11:39:20 PM | message detail | #301
Twenty-five in a couple of months.

I do realize you're older and some, like Bellis, while only 17, I think, are just really great guys.

Then there's the fact I love VGs despite not owning any current gen system ;) Much love, but little hands on experience for like half the topics, but its always fun to read about.

I took four and a half years myself.

meisnewbie isn't actually alive or human, so he kind of defies the whole age thing.

Youngster is relative =P
Bellis being 21 might explain a bit more.

But AKJ is 18 (right?), and I completely agree with his placement on the list.

I suppose being out of college this year I might end up posting a bit more though until I find myself an actual career thing.

Josh is 20.

And yeah, most of my faves are in that college-aged range. HM just went away to school as well, I believe, mnm is out job hunting, KH is at school, etc.

I wouldn't mind a job like that =P

I had one once too, but was active enough that I wasn't so bored I posted a lot. And if I was, the gf at the time would often come over and we'd play cards.

Me being here these days entails GF is at work, busy, or that I've had my fill of SRT:OG for the day.

well, it's just that most of our younger crew talks about the same things - hentai, OH GOD I LIKE THIS GIRL, OBJECTION OBJECTION OBJECTION, etc. you've never really done any of those, well maybe objection but that's about it. you also don't fad very often, which seems to be something that younger people do a lot as well.

I don't think that's it. I don't do those things really, and I'm not thought of as some old dude. I think it's more posting style, how serious you are usually etc.

I am so not a serious user and I'm one of the oldest people here. when I started doing this thing, everyone was like 'no way, this is a joke topic'. that's what people expect out of me. nor is my posting style "mature" - usually this means good grammar, proper capitalization, etc etc. I don't have any of that.

I"ll agree with tranny's comment on younger people usually being the ones doing that, but lack of that doesn't mean you're older either.

It does make you more likable though =P

As for you tranny, there's just a certain unsaid something that simply makes it so you can just tell someone is slightly older than the norm.

Like neon for example - I'd never think of him as anything younger than mid-20s... though he hardly seems to post like his actual age either at almost 30 =P Then again, what we expect from certain ages is really relative. I doubt I'll be oh so serious at 30, and I was always more "mature" than my age when I was a teenager.

Or maybe I just like you because you're a Scorpio as well, for those who have a belief in that ;)

You do have a "mature posting style" in that, despite the lack of capitalization, your stuff is normally almost all spelled correctly and you have a firm grasp on the English language.Casual errors in typing can really make a person seem younger than they are, especially when all there is to a person here is text.

I know I'm mature, probably moreso than most people on here. I just don't think you can tell via text.
