(Well, at least in my skewed perspective. But that's not as catchy of a title!) I wanted to do this ever since Josh's "Best of 2006" topics caught on and I realized I remembered a lot more of the year than I thought. This was my first full year as an integrated member of the Board 8 community, and I've really enjoyed myself - otherwise, why would I keep coming back? As much as people like to moan and complain about the board, there's a lot of good that happened this year, and while of course I can't remember all of it, here's what I do remember, in handy list form! I compiled this list of 50 users (narrowing it down was not easy) based on the simple question of "Did they make the board a better place to be in 2006?" How I define "better place" is different from how others would, of course, but I tried to capture diverse opinions as well as mine just for the sake of completeness. I don't pretend (apart from in the title >_>) to make this a list representing the entire board as a whole: this is the board as Ed Bellis sees it, plain and simple. To that end: If you're not on this list, it doesn't mean I hate you or that it's personal or some other bullcrap whining that certain people will likely do. Like I said, it was tough narrowing it down, and it meant a lot of users I really, really like didn't make the cut in favor of some users I don't care for nearly as much. (Like I said, going for a board-as-a-whole approach instead of just are-you-my-friend approach.) If you want to name people who didn't make it, feel free - this is meant to be a topic for reminiscing and having fun, so by all means don't let me by the one to do it all. In summary: DON'T. WHINE. Or I'll get MWIS to put you in the box. Every ten users or so I'll be posting one of four smaller lists - best topics, best projects, most embarrassing moments and the best things/concepts to come from the board. Like I said, not around for everything, so feel free to list your own memories and such. This'll... probably take a while and fill up a few topics, so have fun, drink champagne, whatever. It isn't gospel and is just what he personally thinks. A lot of people and projects won't make the list. Just shrug it off, it's not a direct snub to you, it just means that Ed enjoyed ten other projects over yours. It doesn't mean that everyone else did. If you only do the project so that you can get credit in topics like this then I would suggest you re-evaluate the whole VAPE thing because that isn't a very valid reason for running a project. Vlado, it's Ed's opinion . It isn't gospel and is just what he
personally thinks. A lot of people and projects won't make the list.
Just shrug it off, it's not a direct snub to you, it just means that Ed
enjoyed ten other projects over yours. It doesn't mean that everyone
else did. If you only do the project so that you can get credit in

Sure getting thanked for your work is always nice but expecting to get

19. RPGGamer0 Too sexy for this board. Another user of the "casual" status, RPGGamer has had a pretty chill year on Board 8, running one of the longest-running topic series throughout the year - Rate the Band, which lasted for damn near two hundred days and featured a diverse selection of artists. RPG is like Tom in that he's found near topics that interest him and is often quick-witted and snarky to boot. He's like a more subdued version of RX7, and while most may not notice him (despite his incredibly obnoxious bolded sig), he's liable to turn even the most crappy topic into something resembling fun and hilarity. One of the most underappreciated users of the year. He's also, according to PUN's first Best Looking User Contest, the... best-looking user on the board, although stripey2isback later took his place for the second contest. Oh right: Icey, current party is Blade, Silver Surfer, Black Panther, and Ghost Rider. Most broken party ever, especially with the Surfer who can essentially instant-kill everything on the screen at once. Everyone seems to like Thor in the game.
