17. sephsblade Today's poll proves something about cats. Karma Hunter once very astutely said that the only people who seem to know and appreciate sephsblade are the ones either involved with him in writing projects or those who share his love of SNK and Planescape or whatever else he's into. Everybody else is missing out on one of the funniest and wittiest users on the board. sephsblade was responsible for a time for the "This poll proves that ____" series of topics, in which he posited something random and it mostly got ignored. He also did quite a few lists of things, showing off his unique taste, as well as helping out on several writing projects, including running a CYOA with Pathetique. But it's his "Terry Bogard's Contest Analysis" that really endeared sephs to the masses - at least, it should have. Taking barely readable Engrish and making entire paragraphs with it takes a great degree of skill, and the results were absolutely hilarious. It's a good measure of what sephsblade is capable of - he's like meisnewbie but his tangents are slightly easier to follow. Yet another face lost in the crowd for some undeserving reason. --- This was Ed Bellis. Rufus Shinra 18 took a shotgun to my bracket. Congrats, Guru champ! |

16. Mumei Board 8's best diffident intellectual. There is a reason Monster became one of the year's most-talked-about phenomena, and it's not just because Mumei spammed the living hell out of it. No, it's because Mumei is a dude with credibility. He's the board's foremost expert on all things manga and anime, to the point where he's able to tailor personal recommendations of obscure things based on the user's personality. And people listen to him because he's polite, he's smart, he normally stays out of drama and, more often than not, he's right. I can't think of many people who watched Monster who didn't come away from it satisfied, if not a raving fan. Mumei's "Rate the Anime/Manga" topics likely got attention because, well, of him, and the respect he commands. He's one of those users that always manages to stay above the "bottom level" of crap that even the best of us fall into (sometimes willingly...), and that's part of why he works so well as a user - when Mumei, people listen.
